Help Needed with Accent Pillows for Bergere Chairs with print PIC

I'm having a helluva time trying to figure out what to do with these chairs. I bought a pair of bergere chairs that have a print on it. The couch came after, which is similar in color, solid with pillows that came with it as well as two solid pillows I bought that I think go well.

But the chairs, I would like to bring some color to them and can't figure out what to do, or how to do it. None of the pillows I've tried are working unfortunately.

First, do I need a pillow with these chairs? What type/shape of pillow would one suggest, and what type of print do you thin could go with these chairs?

I do not want to change the print, that would be easy, but honestly, I don't want to go through the hassle, the cost and I actually like the print.

Should I forego pillows and look for a throw to put over one of the backs of the chair?

Pictures were taken in front of a drape that is NOT in my home. The color of the pillows in the sofa are a maroone or dark burgundy color.

Thanks for any input, ideas and suggestions.

I love the chairs! I find my chair pillows always ended up on the floor when someone wished to sit in the chair. They are usually only decorative and with a chair often do not add to comfort so If you can not find a pillow I think they are practical and still lovely w/o one. If you really want a pillow how about matching the solid color of the sofa? the colors look pretty neutral so anything goes. If you do choose pillows I think a bolster shape might work best.

I don't know how formal your room is going to be, or how deep your burgundy, but I would be kind of tempted to do something like this, which is an embossed velvet tone-on-tone with a Very similar pattern to the chairs. (I like to layer this way sometimes in a counter-intuitive process)

Or go with another type of French pillow in Aubusson Needlepoint. I do agree that a lumbar or kidney pillow would be nice but I usually take a pillow like this and tuck it along side of me.

Thank you everyone for weighing in with your thoughts. I can just kick myself that I didn't seek advice from this forum when we were choosing paints for our whole house. I just love Wilmington Tan and feel it would look better than the Oat Straw we have presently--DH likes it also. I do agree with caroleoh that Tyler Taupe pairs best with the Oat Straw, but for this room the one I prefer it the Wilmington Tan so am glad to read a few others here think similarly. It's hard to think of repainting the other rooms just now, but perhaps we will phase over to the WT over time. We paid to have the house professionally painted, but this time around it will be DIY. While I've not chosen a rug, I've thought about it and looked at some. Even though this room is formal, it still needs to fairly kid proof (we have three ourselves ranging in age from six to 14, and most of our friends have children also) so I tend towards rugs that are darker in color without an ivory/taupe/gold background. Particularly if I were to put the WT on the walls and with the existing WT and sofa, I feel the rug would be an area to bring in more color so with that in mind I'm hoping I'll still have some options open. I'm also wondering with a more neutral backdrop, if it will allow the chairs to become the focal point along with the fireplace. Les, you are never a pain. I truely appreciate your insights as well as everyone else who has replied to my threads. Here are a couple of distance shots that I hope will give you a better feel. As it was later in the day, it worked better to put the sample boards lower. Notice, I've also tried to drape the drapery fabric as I know once it's hung in folds and how the light plays on the sheen of the material also gives it a different look. I'm really getting very curious to see my drapes. They have such a lovely weight to them and with the lining and the leading edge trim, I'm hoping they will meet my expectations. This has been the biggest splurge in this whole LR/DR remodel--and the next I imagine will be the rugs.

I sometimes like pillow shopping as much as I like shopping for jeans. :) I understand what you mean about sometimes posting and then not really getting any feedback. It can be a little discouraging at times. I usually end up feeling very,"Hello? Help! Anyone??" I think having blue in the pillows is a good idea and will help tie in the art (which I really like) I'll wait to see, but I think I'll really like the floral ones because they'll add some lightness and it ties in the blue. I agree to seeing the overload of pillows everywhere. I do think it sometimes looks nice, but I can't deal with that many IRL and once you actually add a few people to the room.... They're also not all going to fit in that 'basket' everyone speaks of unless you smoosh the heck out of them! A tower of pillows on the basket maybe.

Sanam Z, since you are working with an open floor plan, I would suggest to be consistent in your style, so both spaces flow nicely together. Your living room sectional has clean lines and has more of a contemporary/modern feel. And your dining room is more of a transitional style with its warm tones. My suggestions would be to select a glass dining room table and more of contemporary style dining room chairs. Then, it would be easier to find some accent chairs for your living room. Your furnishings need to complement each other in some ways (finishes, fabric, texture, colors, etc.) Also, I would suggest to move your sofa, since it is blocking the window. As far as the art goes, find a piece of art that you absolutely love. Place it above the sofa or on the other wall as a focal point. Then, pull some colors from it to find a nice rug. Is that a green or brown background. I'd probably choose one of the colors in the chair and make a lumbar pillow with fringe or cording.

I have the lumbar pillow on my Bergere chairs and find them useful. The chairs are very deep and having the pillows keeps you from feeling like you're reclining when you sit down!

Roarah, the color of the couch is anout the same as the darker color of the chairs. I tried with a similar color and it did nothing for the chairs. I'm looking for a pop of color. I think the pattern in the chairs is what the problem is, nothing seems to go with such a design.
