Fun project: Help completely change nature of this bathroom. PICS

This is a question of style, so I thought it might be better here than in the bathroom forum.

A few years ago I started the kids' small bathroom. I got distracted and, yada, yada, yada, I never finished. I was obviously in an unusual frame of mind when I picked out the stark white shower tile and shower head (see next post down.) While it's nice and crisp looking, the modernity doesn't go with the rest of our house at all. I do like the small glass tile detail in it, and it goes well with the floor. As tempting as it is to change the shower tile, I'm not going to spend the time or money to do it. So I'm hoping to warm up the room with wall color, vanity color/style, and other details. It shouldn't look incongruous with the shower tile, just kind of tone it down and put the emphasis somewhere else. (Do you think this is feasible?)

The house was a generic 1968 ranch, which we've completely changed to look like an older home of non-specific age. Its features are simple and classic, with natural materials and, if I had to pick a style, I'd say comfy British inspired, especially in the kitchen. So I figured I'd take a cue from the aqua floor tile which could be interpreted as a Frenchish color, and try to work around that, make the room older looking. But not so French that it won't fit in with the rest of the house.

I'm going to build the vanity. My thought is to use reclaimed wood. The floors outside the bathroom are recycled barn siding, and I'll try to use the leftover wood from that, if I can get the color right. My first decision is whether to make an open washstand or a cabinet. I already have a Carrara marble top with an oval undermount sink attached, so the vanity size will be 30" wide x 24" deep. I have this Bistro faucet:

Below are links to the two general kinds I'm considering.

Weathered Oak washstand: http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod1619132&categoryId=cat1671017

St. James vanity. The problem with this is, given the dimensions mine will be, it'll be kind of boxy, not an elegant shape. http://www.restorationhardware.com/catalog/product/product.jsp?productId=prod20098&categoryId=cat20030

Linked below is a pic of the bathroom. The sink would go where the chair is. I'll show another view in the next post, can't figure out how to do it here.

Thank you so much in advance, and sorry this is so long.
