fairytalebaby - I saw your earlier post about island size, and I didn't answer because you had so many answers! Ours is 96" long x 40" deep. Four stools fit comfortably, and I plan to squeeze in 5 for larger family gatherings. I guess it also depends on how wide your stools are. The ones I have are about 15" wide.

I fell in love with monte bello after seeing it in gretal7's kitchen a few years back. I looked everywhere and couldn't find it. She said it had a little bit of olive in it. I really loved it. If you found it that's great. Where are you located? It is the granite on the island. I goggled monte bello granite garden web and found it in someone's clippings.Scroll down halfway in the link. suzienj, I'm in the midst of redoing our kitchen and have the Moen Medora in black. http://www.moen.com/pressroom/pressRelease.cfm?release=1447 So far, so good. Two notes: apparently Moen was receiving complaints that turning the faucet side to side in the sink (not pulling it down, still connected) was too difficult. So they made it a bit looser. I'm getting used to it, but I did call and ask if that was normal or if it could be tightened. Second - if you are going for a soap dispenser to match, the Moen black dispenser to go with this faucet has a short reach. I like to pump the soap into the sink and it just barely makes it - actually runs down the bottom part of the sink. Had I added that to the other million things I was trying to make sure would work properly, I would have moved it up 1/4-1/2 inch. And... Think about your drain. Most disposals (if you're getting one) come with chrome. Black is a special order and was kind of a pain to find. I can try to post when the kitchen is done if that helps but it's a black granite counter, with a black Blanco supersingle, a black Moen faucet/soap dispenser and a black air switch. And no, I'm not a vampire:)

caminnc - Mind me asking where you got that gorgeous fabric? I hope you post pics when you get these done. Are you doing them yourself? movin-on - Thanks for the encouragement. I'm close to hitting the button and buying. Close ... but not quite there yet. Only hesitation is that DR is open to a basically "country" type kitchen and I'm a little worried about the Oriental aspect. However, I really love the colors against the black and could perhaps bring in some accessories or lamps to tie it together. Getting a little closer ... ;)))
