My post wasn't about rules; it's just my two cents about how to get a vibe similar to the room you posted, if you like that vibe. So, since you are wedded to the fabric, I think the rug should be solid-ish or else veer modern to echo the feel of the room in the photo (but your windows, ceilings and beams really carry the day IMHO). These are D&A, some of which are on sale. They may still not be want you want for pets, but I think most of them would have close duplicates out there.

Bill and everyone, I too went down that Rabbit hole and helped lined the pockets of the inventors. I wonder what kind of high life they are living? What a smart bunch of people? Wonder if 'the shark tank ' people would of hopped on board when they first started? Would you believe I have a bottle that is so old I can't open it. As if it is glued shut. What is weird that I see this stuff fly off the vendors carts at orchid shows...I am not kidding. That and leaf shine. I always wondered if singing to them makes them grow better too? If it makes anyone feel any better. the last time I sand while watering mine they all heeled over. I am using a fresh bottle, yip, guilty as charged again I bought at the last years orchid show that a orchid growers swore by it that is works, he was selling it...lol I do know that a heck of a lot better light, humidity, better watering practices is making for fine roots on my plants, but not sure if it has to due with Superthrive now. Confused..lol So what do we give good root development to? Good growing practices? better mix? Better lighting? Better smarts on what makes them grow better? Of snake oil? Or all of the above? Hum? Figured I might as well tack on to report my little progress. I did get the black vanity top (it's waiting in the garage) and just ordered the faucet. I really like the look of chrome, but went with polished nickel . Moen Banbury Sorry it's so huge! Which brings me to the hardware and lights. I do think black knobs would look good, but not loving the idea of black light fixture. I keep going back to gold. I loved that ring pull @tartanmeup had posted BUT after looking into it, they are 2 inches ( that's too large) AND they don't expect them until late August. I browsed and found these , and a few similar ones that I am really liking.... and some plainer ones that are similar. I haven't ordered anything more beside the faucet. For lighting-- here's the thing. The vanity is 30-31 inches. I think I am likely not going to replace the mirror at this point. ( I may down the road but havent seen anything I prefer). The mirror is approx 28 wide....... so originally I though I would get a 2 light fixure, but now I am thinking 3 lights. Does that sound right? And, what do you think of these? and my feelings won't be hurt if you tell me I am off track but if you do so please offer some suggestions.I think I prefer the 2 lights to the 3 light version ? Capital Lighting Milan Similar but in 2 lights Drake 2 light and I really like this- but it doesn't come in gold. Maybe the polished nickel and then I could still use gold knobs?Kichler Winslow I am going to go to sleep and hope I wake up to lots of answers (either from you, or from me after a night's sleep).....because I really want to get this ordered.
