soapstone counter seam advice please
Comments (1)Your fabricator is in a tough place, there is no good way to seam up your kitchen with the limitations of the slab you have to have. The only thing you can do is make sure your fabricator can seam soapstone well and rely on his recommendation. I dont know the size of the slab, (only length) so this may be the only way he can fab up your kitchen. Ask him if this concerns you and you will have your answer. Good luck!...See Morequestionable fabricator of our soapstone counter tops
Comments (10)Florida Joshua installed our soapstone in May. We have a seam in our sink . . . . that you can't find. People have to search to find the 3 seams in our stone, because they are hard to see/feel. He used a black epoxy, it looks like your fabricator used white? And the bit about soapstone being porous and the water seeping in? Puhlease. False. Here's my sink. The seam is in the lower left hand side of the sink, about 3 inches in. Good luck trying to find it. This is freshly oiled. This is 3 months after install. We aren't oilers. As you can see, not having the stone oiled doesn't affect seeing the seam....See MoreSoapstone countertops - around the sink
Comments (12)No chips or dings on the edges of the counters here after two years but there are a few inside the sink. I did one the other day when a correlle bowl slipped out of my hands when rinsing it off. My daughter, wife and now myself are all guilty of one incident each. I do most of the cleanup around the sink and I'm generally pretty careful. I rinse off and use the dishwasher for most items but hand wash pots, pans, knives and larger utensils. I'm sure I hit the edges around the sink and dishwasher a few times but no damage to the stone. The dings in the sink are tiny and hardly noticeable unless you're feeling around for them....See MoreHelp....crack in new granite counter top and bad seam
Comments (33)Joe...also....the corbels under the granite were from previous countertop. There are 2 and the counter on the side with the crack does not meet it...they filled in gap with epoxy. I have a call in to the fabricator company...they also sell the slabs and installed. Am I being unreasonable about the crack? I can see it and feel it. I spent a lot of money for these tops and am also using as full height backsplash. They are supposed to install tomorrow which obviously will not happen until they come out and we discuss the counter concerns....See Moreportland_renovation
