I have now posted some Gallery Glass Wine bottles with lights in my picture trail. Oceanna you may really like these. They are good sellers too. Take a look and the pictures really do not do them justice. Thanks

The gallery glass wine bottles are beautiful! I did a few vases in gallery glass at Christmas, filled them with silver balls and lights, they were very pretty. Yours are wonderful.

There was some dreadful wine-type beverage I purchased last holiday season that came in a frosted bottle - but I wouldn't drink a lot of it. I had trouble getting the lights in. I should have used a larger drill bit like the one suggested here. The first directions I came across suggested 1/2 inch. That's a tad small. I found a string of 20 LED lights at Big Lots just before Christmas. I thought the number was about right, and it had a plug on only one end. (many have plugs on both in case you want to assemble a long string of lights.) I saved the label as it was kind of a joke between DH and I, and he passed away after I purchased the wine, but before I made the light. The label is a re-print of an old bicycle poster with a naked woman holding a bicycle, flying through the sky.

Oh Yes just Beautiful! love it! what a beautiful label you made, love your bow also, what a nice gift for your dil! if you are still looking for grapes border or wallpaper maybe try discounted stores, since they are kinda out of fashion now, should be cheap in discounted bins, maybe find some other type you might like to use. Maybe you can inlarge the hole on your other bottle by kinda going around in a circle with your bit till its larger, hubby cut the cord off one of mine and then hooked it back after I put the lights in, unless you know what you are doing I wouldnt advise you try it, dont need any fires! I think you did a beautiful job! cant wait to see the next one! oddie

I'll head over to your album to take a look. I've never tried gallery glass, although I've admired seeing the projects others have made with it. I don't usually sell, just paint and do crafts for myself and to use for gifts. It is my creative outlet. However, Anj has been asked to teach projects for a group. She did some glass blocks last time, so she might find these a good project for the group--especially since her DH mastered the art of drilling glass. I'm sure she will be by to take a look soon. Have you found the crafts forum on here? Someone on there was selling lighted bottles decorated with ribbons and flowers on them--very pretty too. And you might find ideas over there for your ladies at the assisted living facility. And somewhere on our gallery is my pic of my "bottle of BOOS" which was just a bottle I painted black and then painted little ghosts on it for Halloween. Glad you are coming by to chat with us, we need more participants on here to make it even more fun. I'm off to see your bottles now. Luvs

I can't imagine it's going to be a problem with the size bulbs you're going to install. It will draw less than an amp. Dry sand would not be a problem.

Thanks for posting these, Donna. I especially love the green one with the grapes on it. Your work is so inspiring to all of us. Do people re-use them to put wine in or what? What do they pay for them?

Oceanna, these are for decorative purposes only. They have a string of lights in each bottle. I used a glass bit and cut a hole in the side of the bottle and then put lights in them. They are used for night lights or just decoration. Really pretty lit up. I sell them for $15.00 each. All you have in them expense wise is the gallery glass paint and a string of lights and I got the lights for $.99 so not much of an investment more time than anything. You can make several at one time by using gallon size zip lock bags to prelead your design on and then paint, let dry and peal and stick onto the bottle then use Gallery Glass crystal clear and fill in the blank spaces and let dry. I hope you will try and make one.

Hi,I am so glad you told about being able to paint on plastic bags! I have used gallery glass just a bit, i know that would be a help. I want to do some of those bottles.I guess they are easy to find?
