After they finish installing the granite today, the plumber will be here to install the GD and right side DW with my Orca. Will post pics then.

Thank you, teched. Are you having anything put behind the left side? Maybe I eliminated too many people with the tittle of this post. I was surprised when I did a search for the Orca how few pictures actually came up in the posts. I will have to try again and see if there links to more photos from people that did not actually put the photos in the post.

Sue we have our DW installed to the right of our Orca sink. Our base sink cabinet did not allow for anything to the left of the faucet so we ended up with everything on the right. They look a little too lined up like soldiers to me but that was what the granite people claimed they could do. I was bummed initially but I've gotten over it and don't mind it anymore.

What do you mean by anything behind the left side?

Sorry I did not get pics up. They were here until very later. I have a faucet, soap dispenser, and insta hot with a tank. I also have what looks like the world's largest garbage disposal in there. Oh, my cabinet is 30" too, so they routed out my sink base to fit the Orca in in the first place. I promise to get pics up soon.

I put mine in a 36" sink base so I was able to offset the soap dispensor to the left. Don't think this would be possible in a 30" sink base though. It really works best that way as I drip dry dishes on the right. For the water dispensor I find if I have alot of dishes drip drying in the shelf grid I can simply swivel the dispensor faucet around to the right and fill up a glass that way.

I have my trash pull out on the left, orca in the middle and DW on the right. My air switch and soap disp. are on the right because the size of my base cab didn't leave room for anything on the left.
It works fine, but I would have preferred the soap on the left (like in valinsv's photo).

I have a 36" base cabinet pulled out 3". So I am told I should at least be able to have the soap dispenser on the left side like valinsv. I was wondering if it would fit behind the left side of the sink so I could put the Instant Hot where valinsv's soap dispenser is. Then I still wanted to put the SD on the left. Like this:

I also want to have my trash pullout under my sink on the left side.

Too much to fit? Would it be too hard to reach the SD? Will the trash still fit in the front part of the cabinet on the left side with the GD and IH tank behind it? It might be a better idea to just let the IH go on the right, and the GD on the left, and then try to fit a single pullout trash can under there. I do not have enough cabinet space to put a pullout trash in a separate cabinet.

I have the Orca and my dishwasher is on the right. I also have a garbage disposal. I do have enough room under my 33" cabinet for a very small trash can which I use for recycling. It's on the left side of the cabinet.

Oh, bummer. I didn't want a really small trash can. I knew I wouldn't be able to fit a double under there with the GD but hoped I could fit a medium size single, like an 8 gallon I had under my old sink. I was hoping something like this would work, and I would just remove the second basket and store plastic bags back there or put the large bottle of soap for the nevermt behind it.

DO you have a deeper cabinet or are you just pulling a standard cabinet out 3"? If the former, I think you will be fine with the SD on the right like you pictured even with the bumpout. I can easily reach items on my window sil which is another 3" back. If the latter, you would need to make sure there is room at the back of the cabinet to put the soap dispensor bottle as you still only have the 24"D cabient to place the insides. All the bumpout really gives you is extra space behind the fixtures and clearance to rotate handles, etc. If you have a tilt-out-tray that also will limit how far forward you can bring the sink in order to have clearance for the tray and hinges to operate. Concern over this is why I did not put in a TOT.

I do think your GD (is that an air switch) might be a tad too close to your faucet hole, though your fabricator should be able to advise you. Depending on your faucet choice you may need more clearance for the handle--see how my handle is to the right. In any case make sure to have your faucet on hand when the fabricator comes.

I think you would be happier putting your trash to the right. I know you cannot have it open at the same time as your DW like you envision but with your instant hot, Sd etc, I think you'll have space for a larger trash can which is so nice as it fills up quick. I'm surprised you won't have room for a dual one as I've seen a few set up that way. You just need to make sure your plumber routes all the pipes to the very back of the cabinet.

I also have the Orca with DW on the right and trash/recycle pull-out to the left of the sink. I also use the right hand grid for dishes that I hand wash.

However, when I am loading the dishwasher, I'll usually put away the grid. (I understand your concern about crossing over clean dishes on the grid). That way the entire sink can be utilized for clean-up.

I have two soap dispensers to the left of the faucet and an air switch on the right.

I have an Orca in a corner cabinet and F&P DDs off further to the right. The hookup for the DD has absolutely minimal impact on the cabinet. Just a couple of very small hoses that run flush on the back of the cabinet.

The thing that would impact a waste basket on the right, if anything, is the hose from the pulldown faucet. I have Brizo Venuto, and it is in a bag so it doesn't get tangled, but that does take some space.

Thank you. I actually want to put the waste basket on the left, which is where the GD is, and that is one reason I wasn't sure if there would be room. I was also considering putting the Instant Hot on the left between the GD and cabinet wall and trying figure out if I did that if there would be room in front of that for the waste can on a pullout. The right side I plan to use for storage, with or without a separate pullout.

valinsv, sorry I somehow missed your post when I reread this initially. My base cabinet is a standard 24" depth that is just pulled forward 3" (actually 2 1/4", to make the turn posts line up with raised panel door, I guess) . Anyway, I have a window sill that will be 4 1/2" above the counter that comes out 2 1/4" from the wall and takes up any extra space I would have gained to put faucets and things.

I just measured and the sink is actually 20" front to back including the lip at the widest point of the sink. The opening is 18 3/4" front to back with 1/2" lip all the way around. If they require 3" of counter in front of the sink opening, there will 1 1/2" overhang, plus the opening will have to be set back another 1 1/2" into the sink base. I am confusing myself here but I believe it goes like this: The actual cabinet opening is 22 7/8" wide, because the 24" depth includes the thickness of the plywood used to construct it, not the opening size. Assuming 3" in front of the sink opening, requiring the sink to be set back 1 1/2 inches into the cabinet opening, the back of sink cutout would be 20 1/4 inches from the front of the cabinet, leaving only 2 3/8" from the the back of the sink opening to the back of the cabinet opining. In that space is the 1/2" back lip to the sink. That only leaves 1 7/8" to fit the SD in, and I can't believe that would be enough room.

Oh, bother as Winnie the Pooh would say. I think I just proved that it won't fit there.

The GD switch is an air switch. Placement was general not exact. I would actually like a little more space between it and the faucet to make cleaning easier. I just like it near the faucet because you are already reaching back to turn the water on before starting the GD so it seemed to make sense to keep the two together.

Assuming now that the SD won't fit where I wanted it, this is probably what I will have to go with:

If I made any errors in math or wrong assumptions here, anyone, please tell me. The template is Tuesday and the kitchen installer won't be involved to help me because I went outside him in order to get the quartz (he only does granite). He is OK with it, just not responsible for the outcome.

Now, does anyone know how much space is required between the sink opening and the faucet hole?
