I used Lisette sheers in my 1910 Boston apartment a decade ago -- wall to wall, floor to ceiling on a wall that consisted entirely of windows and a balcony door. I also used a door panel plus a short panel on the transom. I hung them all on JCP's clear polycarbonate rods.

They draped nicely and seemed to be well made. I can't speak so much about durability, because I lived there for only two years.

I purchased these sheers in ivory for my french doors in our masterbedroom in the 96" length and have been delighted with them. They launder easily and can be rehung without touching an iron. Great value for the price.

I am very partial to sheers -- but I always used the crushed voile sheers rather than the plain ones. I like the way they shatter the light, and there's no maintenance, no worrying about a stray crease.

I have used Penney's sheers, and I think they are decently made... but then again, I've never had the privilege of comparing them to sheers that cost $927(!!!).

Do they hold up? Sure. Mine don't get much abuse. Most of the time they are held back with tie-backs. Sometimes, when I'm feeling particularly frisky, I will open the window and let them waft in the breeze, lol...

I've used Penneys curtains for years without trouble and might have had the Lisette on my door. I find they have the most reasonable prices if you can find soemthing you like. I would think twice about buying the others--get the Penneys.

I have used their sheers for years. A few times I have had them not all be the same length, like 1 or 2 panels will not be the 84" they should be. But never had a problem getting them replaced. I just bought 8 panels of creme for my large window and a scarf. They do come creased and wrinkled but if you put them in the dryer with a damp towel, they come out fine. I just paid $9.99 a panel. They come on sale alot throughout the summer - just watch the ads. I have used alot of the colors over the years - I had ordered the linen color but when I hung them, they looked way to gold to me so I returned them for the creme.

I have also purchased them in the past from JC Penney.
They were panels for french doors...clear plastic rods
worked fine for me! Country Curtains also has inexpensive
panels with a little more detail than the plain lisette.
Great value for the price as others have stated.

How about these? I don't have them, but I have always thought they were pretty. They come in 84" but they also have 90" which sounds like it may work better for you.

The price is good, too . . .$29/panel for 54" wide or $54/panel if you want the wider width (in 90").

I have the Lisette sheers on all of my windows, even in the front of the house and I love them. In my last house I had wooden blinds but I wanted the old fashioned feel of drapes and sheers. Mine are fine and I have not had a problem with them. I even had custom drapes made for the DR and used the Lisette sheers. Here are pics of my DR to give you an idea. This is just after they were hung and before I steamed them.

I will probably use the pinch pleat and traverse rod on this door, because they will be opened and closed a lot.

I am already thinking of other projects where these would be a great option. (possibly combined with custom, like you did deborahnj)

I have them and they look nice and hold up great.

I just hung Lisette sheers today on my DR sliding door. I bought them for the LR as well, but used the 4 pair I bought in the DR since I hung them wider. They are gold and really look nice. Lisette is what I usually buy when I buy sheers. These were on sale for $9.99 per panel.

One thing I noticed though is one of the four pairs is not the same length though they all say they are 90". I have reordered for the LR and will see if I can swap one of these for the DR since the LR ones will be behind the sofa and not noticeable. I am attempting to make valances to go with the curtains. I am not a seamstress, but I will try some things from time to time.
