Yes, that's just the sky....Pacific Northwest clouds, or more correctly, marine cloud cover. From now on into the fall, some of our clear days will start with this cool, moist fog-like blanket of clouds that is close to the ground. Around noon, it dissipates and the rest of the day is lovely & sunny. That pic was taken from below the flower, so the gray sky formed the background. Patrick

Look at all of your space and your wonderful gardens! I agree with you re: Liberty, it is my favourite this time of year as well. I have transplanted trilliums successfully, I have four clumps here in my subdivision garden. hostahosta - do you get plenty of the rhizomes and roots below that? That is the most important thing even if you don't get much of the 'plant'. The following year is when you see them flourish as the year of transplant they will appear to 'die' after transplant in the spring.

*LOL* Aunt Jen .. we could call the paint color, Easter Egger Olive Green. :D My daughter's were so thrilled to hear that Olive laid an egg. They've been checking the coop everyday since the hens were supposed to start laying soon. My middle daughter Samantha has dibs on the egg, Olive is her chicken. Sam's so thrilled with the egg color, she named her Olive because she wanted her to have green eggs. Now she's hoping Olive will lay another egg before morning so for breakfast she can have ...... Green eggs and Ham! :D ( Yes we do have ham here ) Because after all she is Sam I am. ;) As far as my DH .. since he's been 'denouncing' the chickens lately as the eggless variety. He received a text message from the Chickens this morning, with a picture of the egg attached. Basically they told him .. Nanny - Nanny Boo-Boo! What can I say, they aren't mature hens. ;)

I would go ahead have your DD's best friend's name printed on the wedding program. She would feel so honored to think you thought of her. Then at some point, someone could announce why she wasn't in attendance. Maybe someone could do a toast in her honor. OR...you could print your own wedding program as the time gets nearer and you know for sure if she will be able to attend. OR...you could get stickers in a baby theme (baby bottles, rattles, diaper pins, etc). Stick them on the program next to her name at the last minute, if they are already printed and she can't attend. Self explanatory, I would say. :) We rent items for weddings and we have seen some very strange things be done. I think having an extra groomsman is the least strange thing I've encountered. Hang in there...remember very few weddings go off without some kind of hitch. Keep the menu very simple, so that YOU can enjoy the day too. You don't want to end up in the kitchen during the whole reception. You will miss out on so much of the fun. Enlist a few friends...or someone from the church to help out. Make things that can be taken out of the fridge and placed. Cucumber sandwiches would be great too. Maybe a deli could make some sandwiches up for you, that someone could pick up for you, at a lesser price than a caterer. Good luck! I would be thrilled to give you a hand if I were close enough.
