WANTED: Springbank Park, London, On, Plant Exchange 2012
Comments (165)Hi everyone , Well this is turning out to be a can of worms. Not at all what I intended. But then worms are good for the garden. I wrote to Blueiris because I was concerned that the saturday dates for the swap that I suggested were not good for a number of participants(Lilacislove, Gardeng8 who travels so far to come and Luckynes) and Sunday dates are not good for me so I asked her if she would choose a date so that I could know if I could attend . If it turned out to be a Sunday , so be it . It just makes more sense for me to bow out so that three others can attend. I dont have a problem with that . It just means that I may have to pass on the swaps I have arranged as I dont know when/where I could get your plants to you. If we can work out something that's great otherwise I have to cancel the swaps I have made with you all . Blueiris has very kindly offered to pick up and take but it is so far out of her way that I just dont feel right doing that and if past experience has proven anything , I am working on swaps right up to and including the last minute of the day of the swap . I just want to say that I appreciate all the garden plants I have traded all of you in the past. They for the most part are growing merrily along and increasing as I write. I now am working on garden number 40. Who do I blame ? The fault belongs to all of you LOL! This has grown to be quite the event since I started it all some years ago . So when you choose a date please choose what really works for you all . If you think we can still work out swapping outside of this swap let me know . I was ssssssooooo close to having a dark purple lilac !!!!!!! I will check in some time later to see what everyone has decided on , in the meantime I am all about making a Ladybug cake for 30 people for my neice's first birthday right now . Ladybug , Ladybug fly away home ....UGH!!!really this is a horrible nursery rhyme! Signet...See MoreWANTED: Spring Swap/Barbecue London/Springbank Park
Comments (150)Hi Heather, I didn't mean to make you feel that I was talking directly to you and making you feel obligated to consider this particular plant. :)After all, you are right, and everyone has different ideas about what is special and you may not think the plectranthus 'mona lavender' is as great as I do.;-) I just reread it and it does sound like I was targeting you, so I hope you don't feel uncomfortable and like you have to find something to trade for the plant. The first part about the russian sage was for you. The next part about the 'special trade' was just thrown out there for anyone who might know the plant and want it as much as I did, or see the plant on the link and then decide that they would like it. I guess I rambled on about it(then and now-ha ha) because I had mixed feelings about letting any part of it go after looking for it for so long, but would if someone let me know that they really wanted it and/or had been looking for it for a while like I had been. I will leave it that if you want the plant, just please forget what I said in the original post and treat it like any other offer, and forgive my ramblings....If you don't want the plant that is okay too. It will still be on my trade list. I must have been too tired to post, and should have been in bed. LOL! gg...See MorePrepping for spring and ready for the alphabet
Comments (36)Ludi, thank you for the encouraging words which made me persevere until I discovered the problem. The "embed" text persisted instead of html, until I returned the size back to "original" and now I'm no longer frustrated. Let me see if I can show a couple other shots. A guy on Flickr commented that he'd never seen my garden in such disarray.....was I feeling okay? I thought that was funny. Nothing that the arrival of spring won't cure. I really must get things orderly, but I was "nesting" the pots to keep squirrels at bay. Tonight there is dense fog, and my hair hangs as limp in the humidity (96%) as if I had endured a steam bath. Now wind is moving the chimes by the deck, which lets me see the wind. The spanish moss is pitching around too, like waves in a ragged sea. It only now dipped to a low of 69F....See MoreNew Caesarstone Frosty Carrina & London Gray light marble looks
Comments (120)Dianne, I have quartz (not Caesarstone, they were out of my choice at the time) in my bathroom; looks new 2 years later. Online, you will find many cons or negatives about most any product you are considering buying. I wouldn't let that hinder you, as that's usually the minority. Caesarstone has a warranty. I will be buying either London Grey or Organic White in the next two weeks for my kitchen reno, but I love real marble. This is a happy compromise. Check with the company you are buying and ask if they've had any issues with Caesarstone. I asked the appliance company about Thermador vs. Viking and they gave me their opinion based on what they service the least. Good luck!...See Morecolleenoz
