Do cream cabinets go with white window trim?

In the process of planning all the fun little details of our new home and I am tentatively planning on doing cream colored maple cabinets (with a glaze)and I was wondering, can we still have white trim (baseboard, crown molding, windows, doors, etc.) throughout the home without it looking funny with the similar cream shade cabinets? Especialy concerned about the kitchen window but of course want that window to match the others since we have a VERY open floor plan. Or do most people do cream trim? All of the doors and windows in the house will be white so I'd like to paint the trim to match them. Any input would be much appreciated Im very new to this thing they call interior design! :)

That's what we are planning to do. We're matching the window to the trim, which is the same throughout the house (BM simply white), not the cabinets, which are a grey-undertone white. I've seen pictures where its done well. I also agonized over this. I think its the kind of thing that you notice, but others don't necessarily notice.

I also chose white hardware and screen outline for the window, because I wanted the focus to be on the view outside the window, not on the window itself.

You like yellow with white trim in the rest of your house so think of cream and white as a more subtle version of the same scheme. I understand the second guessing. I obsessed over all the whites in our bathroom remodel. Now I see, the greater range of whites gives texture and interest to the space. Your cream and white will look great. Count yourself lucky you found a cabinet color you love. Looking forward to seeing your finished kitchen!

Not sure what you mean by "by definition" CDR Designs. Any paint company can call any color whatever name they please, and it may have NOTHING to do with the actual color. For example, what does "ballet white" mean??? or "tapestry beige"?? Benjamin Moore has over 20 colors with the word "cream" in them. They range from white to beige to orange to peach to pink to brown to tan to green...well you get the idea. The problem with all the off-whites is that they are made up of a pure colors that are tinted (by adding white) and/or toned (by adding black and white, i.e., grey), and depending on the proportions of the tints/tones will evidence the pure color in certain lights. As I've repeatedly stated, there is no "best" color that works for everyone in every light. The best color for your space needs to be determined by you in your space with your light (day, night, natural, artificial) using large samples of the color you are considering. And do not just paint the colors next to each other on the wall. The underlying color of your wall AND the color next to it will affect your perception of the color.

I agree with painting the window trim a white that matches the vinyl, and personally, I'd paint all the trim. (whatever you do, I strongly recommend against painting the actual frames if they're vinyl.) also agree that you can choose just about any color you want for the front door. the fun part about that is that it's not that hard to paint a door, so you can easily change it if you don't like it.

My kitchen perimeter cabinets are cream, as is the crown moulding. But the trim for windows and door frames is BM Dover white. It looks great together.

My window trim is white and my wall color is cream. It looks beautiful.

They will offset each other beautifully.

I would want the trim in my house to be consistent. We are renovating and I am getting rid of wood trim in one part of the house and replacing it with painted white trim so it is consistent with the rest of the house.
