How many of you change decorating styles in home?

I'm planning a home remodel and find myself with two different decorating styles (well, three if you count the basement LOL).

The living room will be large when I (hopefully) take down a wall and open it up a bit. This room is our main living/family room, so the brick fireplace, darker woods, darker colors are great for a room used for watching TV, reading, etc. There's a game table that can be used for dining, when formal dining is required, but otherwise, it's a game table.

The kitchen is going to be good sized too, when we open up the dining room and kitchen to a small side porch. This space will be kitchen, main dining area and a small seating area with a woodstove (just a few chairs). This room is open on two side to the outside and has a lot of light. I want this room to feel like a sunporch, with lots of antique white, light blues, plants, lighter woods, etc.

Both rooms are english/french country (at least my idea of them) but the living room has the darker colors and woods, while the kitchen has more of the pastels, and lighter woods/white.

How about you...does your house have the same woods and colors throughout? Does it all match, or do you change things as you move through the home? Or, do you have the Tuscan kitchen, the Colonial family room and the English dining room? Thank you for responding :)
