That's a very masculine bedroom. I have put hundreds of bedroom pictures in the bedroom thread in our gallery. Did you look at that thread? I am not sure what you mean by "rooms like this." But you can tell when you look at the pictures.

I would make a duvet cover with buffalo check cotton and fill it in the winter. Easy and less expensive. Are you trying to copy the look? I have a chandelier very much like that in my bedroom. I love that look and think it could be copied quite easily.

I'm still looking for "little touches you wouldn't normally do in the room."

The RL website has a few similar pictures, if I remember well; I think the key is in the scale and abundance and opulence. The little touches I see in those pictures would be easy to duplicate, a few books, a vase of fresh flowers.

The basic elements are what make the room, imo, that massive leather bed,
especially, which I love. Piling on the comforters and pillows.

IÂm not sure what this style is called but I like it. IÂm not very frilly I love that bed too! The little touches IÂm talking about would be things like the folding screen behind the bed or the plaid trunk and the mix of plaid lace and leather pillows on the bed. I also would have never considered a glass chandelier I would have thought something more solid not girly. On the Ralph site I saw some picture frames that had leather riding straps on them I would have never thought of that either. They also have a cable knit throw pillow that I love but again never would have thought to do that. I had a photo years ago before home computers and scanners that had a plaid bed set (which I purchased along with the area rug that was in the shot all from spiegl)and they took the same scottish plaid from the bed skirt and added it as a border just above wainscot walls, the top of the wall was painted green. Fully done rooms usually have unique picture frames, lamps, dresser knickknacks that compliment the theme. The plaid is the given in the room.

I did my bedroom like this before but the walls were green from ceiling to floor and it closed the room in a little. Plus the comforter I had, has seen it last days so I need to replace it. No one other than Ralph that I can find is selling plaid bedding like this. So IÂve begun a material shop search for just the right plaids. I have since repainted the room and was going to redo it in navy, light blue, white and silver with some flower bedding but the flower sheets I got that I like, its just really not me. I ended up looking at blue paisley bed sets. Which had me heading back down the road to this look. So IÂm just going to go for it again. I just wonÂt paint the whole wall green! Although I really did like it. I just missed the bright fresh feeling the room has when its all white since I get the sun all day in that room.

Wow, while it's not necessarily a look I'd think of doing, and I can't help with suggestions, I just wanted to say I think it's gorgeous and wonderfully cozy looking! I love the flannel plaid and how all the elements tie in together so well. I hope you post a pic when you're done with your room and share, I'd love to see the end result.

Black-thumb - sounds like you will end up with a gorgeous room! I understand what you are saying about the unique little things. The extra touches that make the room yours. The unexpected. You have some great ideas and I hope you will share the room when you are finished.
