24''deep counters meet 30'' deep 'counter-depth' fridge...
Comments (9)Sincere thanks to everyone who posted threads and pics to help the spatially challenged! Sombreuil and Cawfeegirl, your kitchens are beautiful! The wall into which our fridge would have to be recessed is on the exterior of the house, and we live in a pretty cold climate, so the whole concept may be a non-starter. We may have to make the style of handle a bigger issue than something like that should ever be, just trying not to protrude any further than necessary. Either that, or it's back to the drawing board to reconfigure the design yet again!...See MoreMore help with designing the bar...wine fridge too deep
Comments (1)If you can access the cabinet from the side, then turn the 18" wide wine cabinet sideways, panel the "front" (side) and it will take up 24" of width instead of depth....See MorePaneling in a fridge: Flush with cabinets? Fridge cabinet? Door?
Comments (10)My cabinetry actually was custom so I was able to get the exact sizes, leaving me extra deep cabinets along that run. However, it can be done with stock cabinets. The stock cabinets are simply hung with some sort of spacer in the back which brings them forward however many inches are needed (as I understand it). The cabinetry surrounding the refrigerator itself is 31" by 39 1/2" (including the cabinet on top of the refrigerator). My refrigerator specs required something like 2" clearance in the back which I decided to honor. My upper cabinets next to the refrigerator are 18" deep. My lower cabinetry is 29" deep so that with the granite overhang, it pretty much all lines up leaving the refrigerator doors protruding forward. And, unlike Buehl's, there is not a wall next to the refrigerator. So the side of the cabinetry is what shows. Looks fine to me. I don't think I would change it....See MoreShould I consider this look for a built-in fridge?
Comments (10)I had to do some fancy searching to find this thread LOL Ok remember please that our kitchen is NOT finished. Included in the not finished group would be the fridge cabinet which will have a bead on the inside like the rest of the inset doors do when I hire a new contractor. The doors on the right will also have full cherry (the ones over the entry) verses the little holes they have now. And, because I know this space has to be emptied soon, I have't actually arranged the platters and bowls up there as they will be. The future arrangement will have one big white platter in the front with a couple of pretty farm house bowls on top and then all the other stuff stuffed back behind that (which you can't see because it's so deep). What I like about this cabinet is it's storage ability, but also it kills the akward little space people end up with above a tall fridge. Having cabinets to continue the molding around makes it fit in really nicely, even in a small space like mine: I was trying to get in all views but my chandelier blocks that last one a bit...I wanted to show how the molding flows....oh well, use your imagination :oP...See Moreabbycat9990
