I just wrote a long post that got eaten before I submitted, so I'll be brief. ctycdm, that is a gorgeous kitchen! magsnj, your pantry and space is so charming - the blue cabs are adorable. We don't have a pantry space in his home (1957 house), so we're having to be creative with our cabinet layout. I think we're going to do a modified version of open shelves. I really do love the look, and I think functionality wise they work for us (I too get sick of opening and closing cabinet doors), but we're lacking cabinet space in this kitchen. It's just not that big. So, we're contemplating a smaller cabinet with a shelf underneath for storing everyday items like plates, cups and wine glasses. The short answer really is "No". I fell in love with that same pattern two years ago and obsessed about how to make it work in our loo. And how to justify its cost. And if I couldn't find a near substitute. The pattern is copyrighted and as nearly as I can tell is only made by Sandersons and a company in Canada. Both of which seemed costly. After spending way too much time looking for a "similar" paper and up against the get the-loo-done deadline, I finally bit the bullet and ordered the paper from a Sandersons book at a local wallpaper store. I do think the Canadian source would have been a little cheaper. You can find it by googling William Morris wallpaper. How do you plan to use it? I put it above a plate rail with one of the greens below. I'm still not thrilled with my green color choice. But I still do love the pattern.

More thanks, firstly to writersblock for a lower cost option and sujafr for the search (and RH) tips. I actually did a search before posting here, and a ton came up - but mostly pages and pages of dining room tables. What draws me to this one is the scale and chunky, solid base and table top...the RL thing - and the price - well, not so much. I'm not sure if it is good or bad news that I looked into it and they do ship to Alaska, for about the price of 2 Ballard baluster bases pre-shipping. I need an interesting piece or two in my soon-to-be renovated LR/entry and this pic just speaks to me. I'd already decided that I'd go with 2 chairs and a table in there and I love this look. Always have, so no fear of being sucked into a trend with it. More like a risk to the pocketbook. ;) Though, I have very few quality, keeper pieces and I haven't ruled it out. I've hated this LR for life and I have had about this amount of money tucked away for the past 10 years from my grandfather's estate - saved for a special piece so I could have a 'heirloom' from him. I haven't decided, but I'm with dazi and petty that this is a great table, and I haven't ruled it out. I was actually glad to find out it is a pic from a catelog of an item that is available, given I was exposed to the image on-line. So often, that is not the case. Options are good. :)

You have pretty pieces, I just think they need a bit of adjusting. Since you are dividing the space with the sofa table, I would put the sofa against the table (facing the TV). The you can move the pair of chairs in front of the window with a small table between. This will open up that space from the hallway and the view out the windows/lower windows especially. I would also remove the round table w/tablecloth. The single (wooden) chair in that area now can move to the hallway side near the FP. I also don't think you need to small, dark table against the column - every bit of wall space doesn't need something on it and this will make it less cluttered as well. You can use this at the end of white sofa instead. Try using it turned sideways. I really like the colorful sofa, but think the arc lamp should be turned so it's in that space - it is "reaching out" trying to get invited to the other space, and looks wrong in the photos. Eventually replace the covered round table in this space also, but don't have all round tables within the spaces (which you do now). Add some color with art that speaks to you (don't buy just to fill in). I would replace the mirror with art as well. Is your ceiling light on dimmers? If not, that's an easy thing to have done and makes a big difference. I look forward to seeing what you decide to do!
