Album Updates

Okay ladies, I know you are out there, so let's have some album updates! What are you currently working on? I am working on my brother's album who died about 5 years ago, as a christmas present for my mom. I am also working on 3 other albums, one on Buddy and I, and his family, and one on my kids, and one for my son. I am also in the process of mailng back the sticker swap for those of you who joined so be on the lookout for those packages. Penny

I am doing an album of my photos of me stay here in the US. So far I have taken 30+ rolls of film and I have been here 8 months. I have only just started. Doing all the sorting etc..

it is hard because I can only do it when I am not working and I don't have anywhere that I can leave my stuff out.

I will have 3 months when I get home before University starts for me so I will hopefully do alot of it then.

I'm just finishing my very first album - it includes all of our family vacations dating back to 1982. I'm pretty happy with the way it turned out. I'm also working on an album to surprise my husband for Christmas. He's been drag racing for over twenty years and I'm making an album about his racing career. My daughter's been helping by taking lots of pictures this summer, and we're having a ball doing it. I've included sections on his early days, articles and pictures from races he's won, places we've been, people we've met, etc. I'm so excited - can't wait to give it to him. After that's finished, I need to start on my son's album. He'll be graduating from high school next May, and I want to have his album done to put out at his graduation party. So much to do, so little time!

Just want to say thanks very, very much for creating and maintaining this album, Karen. I know it takes time even if you love doing it. I often have a quick look for inspiration and always notice something new. Very helpful when creating!

Hi Sue, Thanks for the compliment on the album :) I live in a one bedroom apartment (NYC living is WAYYY too expensive - I need to move to a place where I can buy a whole house for the same price!!!). But I have wall to wall windows, and so I get enough light for my hoyas. The problem is that I don't like clutter, so even though I can hang plants all along the east wall, I just can't do it! Anyway, I'm thinking that's what you meant by asking how I can grow all of them - if not, sorry for misunderstanding. Isn't it so easy to get hooked?? Give it a few months and you'll be a hoya addict like the rest of us! They're very similar to orchids, so you are already showing all the signs of potential addiction! Gabi

Thanks, Purplemoon. I never got around to bookmarking the album, but have done so now. Since I haven't been a "member" here for a full year, it was fun for me to see many of the tablesettings and decorations that correspond with the months I've haven't yet spent on the forum (June through September). Again, thanks for the organization.

Music files not receiving album information from internet

Transferring music files off a CD is called "ripping". This can be done to use your PC as a music repository (like a jukebox) or as an intermediate step for music to be transferred to a portable player or smartphone. Many programs do this and most can add album metadata (called 'tags") to the files by accessing online music data sources. Any one of the following popular programs will fill the bill: Windows Media Player, Itunes, EAC (Exact Audio Copy). They all do about the same thing, people typically prefer one over another based on the user interfaces. All are free and easy to use.

I have been out of town and missed this last week, so I will respond now. You sound like me Penny, as I always have more than one project going. I have completed several trip albums lately so I am focusing on a "catch-up on life at home" album. I also have just gotten the photos from Mom of my brother as a baby (some 30 years ago) so I can get that to him for Christmas. Then I have a wedding album for my sister I need to get started on. But I am cropping as much as possible! Rebecca
