Ready for another swap?

Well I am finally back after being gone more than a week, and I thought I would check with you and see what everyone wants to do. Do we want to have a swap this month, or do we want to wait until after the busy holiday season is over? What do you think?

Hello all! I'm so sorry, I kinda dropped off the face of the earth last year. The stresses of life took over and knocked me out of the loop for a while. ZZtopsoil, thanks for the email about your swap, sorry I couldn't participate and didn't respond in a more timely manner. As you know, that's not usual for me. However, I'm back and ready to go! Got Spring Fever and dying to join in on swaps this year! Hope everyone is well. :-)

Good news! The ground is bare of snow here on the south coast of MA (of course we still have some gnarly piles of dirty snow)....but the lawn is green! And....I was pleasantly surprised today to see some golfers playing at the New Bedford Country Club! So golf has arrived in southern-most New England and will spread north over the next 4-6 weeks. Even though Nemo's snow is gone, the tree damage is extensive. Although there are lots of broken limbs here and there, what is most amazing is the shear number of uprooted trees. I **had** a very large cherry laurel....about 8 feet tall...full lush and of course evergreen. Nemo pulled the entire thing right out of the ground and then flattened it under 15 inches of heavy cement. I can't even budge it even though the snow is gone and the ground is soft and unfrozen. I guess I will cut it way back to primary branches, dig it up, and replant it. My large southern magnolia lost 2 branches, but overall did much better than I originally thought it did the day after Nemo. It is a bit misshapen now and I am wondering if it is time for a very aggressive pruning next month....to get it all tight and bushy again. I think the main message is....prune prune prune. The more you do it...correctly...the better the odds the tree or shrub will survive these historic events.

Sorry I've been away so long. Taxes! the Tech tragedy and DH aunt's death all hit the same week! What a draining long week it was! So from what I'm reading there isn't much interest in another challenge at this time.

As usual Kris, I'm in! It might be great to also do some punchies in Christmas colors and patterns and put in our swap envelopes. Love Penny

May I ask, what kind of swap items do you typically swap in the scrapbooking arena? I just discovered this site, but have done recipe swaps (decorated with a scrapbookers style of course!) on another site. Any info would be great! I may be interested too!
