Has anyone used bahama shutters?

I think I'd like to use them for the front of my house. I like the look and I am hoping they will provide a little privacy at night. My concern is that they will make the house too dark during the day.

Has anyone used them?

I really waned to use them on the back of my house, but it's too windy here in Austin~just something you need to take into consideration, too. ;o)

If you haven't already searched Houzz photos, there are several beautiful homes shown with SW intellectual gray. Go to Photos and put intellectual gray in search box. It will offer you the choice of "intellectual gray in exteriors in photos". I looked at it as a choice for our house but went with something a little greener which looked better with the other permanent elements on our house. Good luck!

Show your photo to vendors of awnings, they should be able to give you a referral. Also consider metal "sun shades", they are very similar in appearance but are stationary. They are used extensively in the desert SW of the USA.
