Need Drapery Help

I want to make lined silk drapes with inverted pleats at the top. I have three questions.

First, what is the best way to secure an inverted pleat? I've considered (1) tacking the pleat at the top, (2) tacking it at the top and bottom or (3) sewing vertically down through the pleat, on both sides of the "ditch."

Second, I want the curtain to hang on a rod with the curtain rings visible. What is the best way to attach the curtain hooks to the curtain? My problem is figuring out how to attach them high enough so that the curtain rings show. Is a better option to get rings with clips and clip the rings to the inverted pleats?

And third, does putting buckram in the top really make a difference over time?

1. Just stitch in the ditch thru the pleat.
2. Not sure what curtain hooks you have but you should be using drapery pins. You can insert them wherever you want them. Or handsew the rings on. For the most part, rings with clips are only for flat panels.
3. Not sure what you mean by buckram making a difference over time. Buckram is used as a stiffener if needed or wanted.

I would cover all 3 windows with the same fabric and hang at the same height. This approach keeps an even sight line around the room. While you don't "have" to sew panels together, it will give the drapes a more finished look, hems will be even,etc. Lots of readers will suggest area rugs better than me. I would prioritize the rug first though. Pretty room.

Given the short length of the small window on the left wall and the much longer length on the right, you may need to buy 2 separate rods that are the appropriate length for each window and then get a corner rod connector. I haven’t seen ready made corner rods in off lengths like your setup, but that doesn’t mean they don’t exist. But if you have a hard time finding it, the corner connector should be the solution you need.

I would consider changing the cushion fabric on the cafe table, It seems you have moved into something a little softer, and then if keeping the curtains in the living room pull that sage color into the fabric you pick for the curtains in the adjoining room. Or even if you could get the same ones. If you change all the curtains, then pull from the color of the rug.

Thank you so much for your comments and suggestions:) I am actually now thinking of doing roller shades and two decorative side panels, I think this look would go best without blocking windows too much. My next questions are what size panels should I get to frame the window so they don’t look too narrow for size of window and the 96” height? Should I get the rod to extend the entire length of the wall to simulate functional look? If I just do too smal decorative rods on each side would this not look odd? Your response is much appreciated!
