Simple pages or fancy?

Which kind of pages do you prefer? I am afraid I am the fancy type, which makes scrapping harder, more time, and money consuming. While mine are not as pretty as some I have seen, I also just can't get into the plain pages very much. (no offense to anyone who uses, or likes them) I like to use punches, ribbon,page toppers, die cuts, stickers, scissors, mats, and you name it on most of my pages and I truly think if done right they don't over power the photos themselves. Of course I don't use ALL of them at the same time. LOL

Hi Penny,

That's a good question. I like to have a variety, so that every time you flip a page, it's something entirely different. I match my background paper to whatever the theme is and go from there.

I've toned my pages down a little from when I started. I found that people were commenting on the decorations more than the photos. Sometimes that's OK, if they're not knockout photos! But if you have some adorable little girl standing in the flowers holding her dress up, well then, I want that to be the focal point and will usually decorate it with a few flowers of punchart in an attractive manner, with different color borders behind the main photo. Soooo, it really depends on what the theme is.

I do both, it depends on the pictures or the theme of the page. I too have found that if you use too much it takes away from the pictures. On the other hand sometimes I will go back to a page and add another embelishment to perk it up.

Herman, It appears you are trying to sell stuff. I think that is a no-no here unless you have paid for an advertisement. Also, people here might be a little miffed when they send you their prize cuttings that you turn around and try to make money off it. Food for thought...

I checked again, but still didn't see any graphics. I'm not familiar with the Yahoo! web hosting service, so can't help much there. Be sure to give the complete url for the graphic file, not just the file name. The problem is that you have the file available on your computer, so your web browser plugs it in, and when you look at the page you see the file. But when I look at it, the graphics aren't on my computer and the browser doesn't know where to find them. So instead of adding "picturefile.jpg" --- add "http://www.photohostingsite.com/hermansaccount/picturefile.jpg". This way others can see it too.

. I thought is was only fair that I post pictures of the almost finished kitchen. Some of you may remember ALL of the troubles I had with those cabinets. Lol well I am happy to report that I got over it:) It may not be perfect or exactly what I asked for or expected....BUT I do love it and am sure I will be happy with it for years to come. Thanks so much for all of the advice. As you can see, I did get a few bigger drawers and am satisfied with that. I still need the finishing touches and a backsplash...any ideas? I have said all along that I came across this forum too late but I learned so much from you all, so a big THANK YOU!!

I think I do both. I use quite a bit of patterned paper in my books, but try and have a good mix of fancy and plain. Depends on the pic for me too.

like everyone else here it depends on my pictures. but overall i guess mine are more simple
