White water rafting ideas

I will soon be working on a two-page spread on white water rafting. I've never seen any stickers or die cuts related to this-any one have any ideas?

Hi Chris: Sorry. I don't have any ideas. But my husband just returned from an eight-day all expenses-paid (if you can believe it!) business rafting trip down the Colorado River. He came back with some beautiful shots and I want to do something with his photos (scrapbook or a photo collage, etc.). I'm fairly new at this so I haven't figured out what I'm going to do, yet! I will be looking for ideas (and materials) during the next two weeks and if I come across anything interesting in my area, I will let you know. Good luck. Karen

Chris,

They have die cuts of orange life jackets. I also have some pics to do from a vacation several ago and I picked up some of the jackets. Also, in one of the magazines the have some pics of white water rafting if I have some time this weekend I will look for the pics and send you a description of how the page was laid out.

I have tested my solution right after mixing and it's only slightly acidic. Within a week the ph drops significantly. A bit of a mystery. The water I use is very pure, the Pine River is pristine and originates in the Weminuche Wilderness in pre-Cambrian formations. The town of Bayfield sent me an analysis of the water (I haul water 8 miles from town) and it's very clean. If anything, it should be slightly basic, since the last few miles of river are in Leadville limestone fm. The intense mineralization found at the head of the Animas River (next river to the east) and within the Silverton Caldera is absent on the Pine. ( A natural spring near my cabin at 10,700 feet elevation and above Silverton runs a ph of 4!) I use Dyna-Grow, maybe that contributes, but I suspect the minerals in the water play an important role. Maybe some kind of reaction. But as I said, it isn't immediate. If you drove a truck over Red Mountain Pass in winter, I'm sure you won't forget it. You might have come over Wolf Creek Pass though, quite easy by San Juan standards. My daughter's father in law rode a semi loaded with farm implements off Red Mountain Pass in January of 2009 over a four hundred foot cliff. Backwards, which is what saved him. The green beans don't need to be tasteless. Lemon juice, balsamic vinegar, Mrs. Dash. Looks like you are also avoiding all salt? Try making a seasoning mix with salt substitute (potassium chloride). There is a great variety of tasty sugar-free ice creams available. But I caution you, don't bother with the fat-free AND sugar-free stuff unless you have no taste buds whatsoever. A little fat won't hurt for an occasional treat. Can he have iced tea (no sugar, of course), coffee, diet sodas? Avoid fruit juices, which are loaded with sugar in their natural state. Far better to eat real fruit. Did you make your own lemon pepper garlic seasoning for chicken, use a prepared blend, or buy the chicken already with the seasoning? The semi-prepared stuff has loads of extra yucky stuff that you don't need, and it's easy enough to do it yourself. Personally, I think that he can probably have a slice of chocolate cake or cheesecake, fully of sugar, etc, once a week. You have to learn how to deal with these temptations for the rest of your life, and a treat in moderation is no sin. Best of luck! I've lost almost 30 pounts just by cutting out carbs and sugar. As long as the the wall is bonded to the same ground as the cell, there is no problem. Overly calcified water can cause deposits to form. Salt is soluble and washes away with water very easily. Salt in and of itself is pretty inert and stable. Mixed with water, the water becomes a conductor and can cause unbonded metals that come into contact to react. Temperature changes such as a freeze/thaw environment cause more problems for coping than anything. Properly bonded pools don't have salt cell related problems. Scott

My pen ppm tester said it was 750 ish if I remember last time I checked. As I said the El cheapo testers off eBay aren't worth it. Both the ppm and ph tester were way off. Even had calibrated my ph tester a few months ago, guess it was a waste of time and money. I have not changed my solution yet. No point until I get my water tests back from the lab. My lower level was around 700 ppm. It's a work in progress. I also have a nft system I will use the high ppm solution to dilute with and add water to lower the higher ppm solution. It will work it self out or it will be changed here in the next few weeks.

I also had the same problem this is what I used a light blue paper for a background and then a green and navy plaid paper behind the pictures. This plaid is very woodsey, I believe I bought it at JoAnn's or Michaels. My stickers for the title look like pieces of logs formed into letters and then I cut out oars from hunter green paper and placed then around the pictures at different angles. On white paper draw out teardrop shapes and out line in a blue marker then cut out to make it look like the water is splashing out of the picture. I hope that this will help you.

I have done 3 seperate rafting trips. The first one, I had to make all myself but then I found a kit from Memory Kits (can't remember the specific title) but it has several large and small big yellow rubber rafts with a variety of other things as well. I found it REALLY hard to get even close to the color of the water but I was able to modify some solid sheets with chalk to give it a nice blend. You can usually find paddles with canoes but there aren't many rafts. Since I finished mine, I have seen some water frosted with a slight glitter but I have not tried that personally. I hope this helps.
