Difficult page

Hi! I haven't posted in ages (too busy enjoying the Olympics!!!)but I have a question ...

I'm creating an album for my parents' 50th Wedding Anniversary - October 2001. I'm not having too much difficulty with ideas for most pages but...

I am the eldest child but there was a boy born before me - he died after a few days. How do I represent him in this album? I definitely don't want to leave him out but I'm not sure what to put. My only thought was something to do with his headstone - a photo? a rubbing? - but what else?

I would definately add this to the album. A photo, headstone,birth certificate etc. Also, some sites have lovely angel poetry to add to the page, try the site below and look under poetry. I have seen some layouts for memorium pages but can't remember where they are. I also will encounter this when I do my heritage pages for my sister.

I am having a hard time trying to decide how to end my son's book that died also. I would include the pages and the items Pam mentioned and perhaps even your thoughts of how much you would have liked knowing him and how his death must have hurt your parents. Leaving him out or ignoring the fact that he WAS born would be an injustice to everyone. Your parents will be glad you are trying to put his pages in their book. Penny

I am poking around in here trying to get some tips on what I can do to discourage deer. We just built a new home on several acres, and I brought all my prized daylilies, etc. here. I have seen as many as 8 deer in my yard at night. By morning, they have mowed everything down. They love the daylilies, and even monkey grass. Spraying insect spray with perfume works, but only if I do it on a regular basis. I look forward to any tips I can find on GW, as I am truly desperate. kathy

It is not trivial and silly. It is not right and you would like it corrected. Firefox is a browser but you are using something else for emails I think as Firefox does not provide that service to my knowledge. When composing do you have a small window much like we do here at Gardenweb to write in? If when you reach the bottom of that window does a slider bar appear on the right side of the box and can you work it up and down to read what you have written?

Thank you, DD is getting lots of attention. :-) OK, so glad I went with my instinct and ordered the Antique Brass. Although not as brassy looking as I thought they would be (don't match the brass colored final,) the rings DO match the rod better than the rings that are suppose to match the rods. There is only a very slight different (DD cannot tell the difference) but I can tell and like the AB better. Taken with camera flash. The old rings still attached to curtains. The next two (in the middle and not attached to curtain panel) are the rod matched rings. The next two (or first two) are the Antique Brass. The two new different rings without flash. See how the rod matched rings are slightly darker than the metal rod? First two (Antique Brass), middle two (rod matched), and the old rings. See how the AB do not match the brass on the finals? I still like them and think they are a better match for both rod and curtain. These are the old rings, and the two different ways of hanging with the clips. We like the look closest to the wall because the clips do not show. What do you think? So, unless someone says otherwise, I will be using the AB and taking the others back. Now to steaming, pressing, hanging weights, and clipping on rings.

Hi maggie Sounds as though one part of your woes could be water repellency? I've been treating sand with a commercial mineral product and it looks promising. Filterpress is a good holder of water, isn't it? How about trialling an area with it as mulch and pulling it back after a month to see what effect it has had? I like to partially line a sandy hole with newspaper to add OM, and to help retain water for a new plant: just threw that in. Rose

I agree with all that has been suggested to. Also, with an angel poem, maybe you can find a beautiful angel picture or picture of a child or child's toys. Good Luck!
