We are BORING! That's why we're SINGLE and why THIS FORUM has died! No wonder our lives have shot craps - we can't even converse among ourselves! We all have something in common, but can't keep a conversation going - BORING!!!!

Yep - that's what my boyfriend indicated as we broke up last week. Guess he never figured I just tired of paying for every friggin thing we did from having an ice cream to a weekend at Hard Rock. Whatever.

LOL joulesR4me! We wouldn't be so boring if our FRIENDS weren't so boring! This board needs the likes of Michael, aka tinman2, to keep things stirred up. I guess he must have found a partner who doesn't think he is boring. We need more Michaels in the dating world, don't you agree?

I guess it's time to stir some 'sh@*' - pis# some people off, or SOMETHING - to get some hearts pumping - what ya think?

I'm in zone 6b in SE PA. I have 15 Crape Myrtles in slightly acid, neutral, and slightly alkaline soils. There are 11 Chickasaws; 1 Pokomoke, and 3 Pink Velour. Seven of the Chickasaws--24" around--are in their 3rd year and still blooming. I believe they will bloom into October. Then there is the Pokomoke--36" across. These two types of dwarfs leaf-out late in Spring. You may think they are dead. I gave up on my Pokomoke this year but left it in the ground just in case. It is now in full leaf, happy, and blooming. These are tough little plants. My first Pink Velour was planted last August in a Winter wind tunnel. It too leafed out late but is now a beautiful bush about 6' tall and 3' around. My other two Pink Velours were planted in the last couple of months and they will taste the 35 and 40 mph northwest winds this Winter. If you buy the dwarfs, give them plenty of time to leaf-out in the Spring or early Summer. The first year in your garden these little guys may grow from their roots. After that, they will start blooming from their branches. That has been my experience in this zone.

If you think working with Subs is difficult, try working with a "I know it all" husband. I'll agree, he has been in the architect/construction business for over 50 years, but he is stuck in the 70's when it comes to details and decorating that I want to do. I can't begin to count the times he said, "It just won't work"....but never tells me why...it is just "You won't understand". I swore when we built this last house, never again!!...but we are back in the planning stages of doing it again...or I should say HE is.... I want to buy a ready-built home, but he thinks he can build one being the contractor himself (of course, he will not be using a tool), and this one took 3 years to complete.....and I want this next one (if we do build) completed in my lifetime!!!! He drew all the plans and said I could pick out all of the inside stuff, but when I say I want something, he finds fault in it all.....UGH!!! You all could have it worse!!!...and I am sure I will be ready to say, "My way or the highway"....but I don't know which of us will be using that highway!

With water, I too let them dry sometimes, and like you, sometimes a bit too much, which CAN be fatal. I just lost a child of Smoky Mountains but I think that's because I'd forgotten it sitting in water. Good thing I have the mother plant. They are not wicked. Suncoast is beautiful - I love the leaves! I recently decided to try some variegated varieties again. Rose bouquet is by far my favorite right now. I thought Optimara Ingrid was, but this one blows it out of the water. It is still young and small but it bloomed its head off and it is gorgeous. I am a big fan of roses so maybe this is why I love it so much. The blooms are literally tiny roses. Right now it looks like a mini, being so young and all, but I wonder how big Rose Bouquet gets, as a standard. It doesn't look like a standard to me though. I am also trying Tiger for variegation. Depending on blooms, I may or may not keep it as it's taking quite a bit of space. Do the variegated varieties need more light than the regular ones? If so, they should do better in my window. But Rose Bouquet is variegated and it's still reaching downwards.

LOL! I just came here to read the posts, & was thinking how depressing it was here. No offense, but you all make it feel like there's no hope for single people. Maybe it's time to change the outlook from despair to hope...

Then again, maybe I'm Pollyanna;-) Seriously, it's a choice to be single. If you wanted someone that badly, you'd find them. However, being single can mean being strong enough to stand alone & not settle for someone who will make us unhappy - just to say we have someone.

Single does NOT mean loser!

LOL Kayjones! I am partly to blame for this forum not going anywhere, I come here to read but see very little. However, I rarely post either!

I'm single because I've gotten older and no longer am I cute. The only men who think I am, are my elderly patients (I'm a nurse) ....only problem is they have dementia, cataracts, and other problems that make me doubt their judgement. LOL!

The men I am attracted to are all married. ) :

Kathy, when you get our age, you WANT them not to see so good. We don't need them to remember anything but our birthday, and occasionally, where we live. I say GO FOR IT!
