Well, I think you've pretty much solved your issues, you just don't see it. Since you love the Blue Pearl that's the granite you should use along with a nice white tile. If you're up for stone, Chiaro Travertine leans towards a creamy white and would add some texture. Then mimic the inspiration picture you showed in your last post with the mosaic that you liked (it matches beautifully with the Blue Pearl) and bring the same mosaic tile/design into the shower as well with a stripe. If you want something more substantial, you can do a wall feature. We did the mosaic tile we liked in a framed wall feature and used the same decorative tile for the backing of our niche and shower floor, it's in slate though but if you want to see pics, I can post some for you.

I would still do the wood tile flooring because that will add warmth to the room and you can bring in your color with paint and accessories.

After looking at the other thread with the pictures, you said Most of my house is already brown, beige, tan, or taupe. I love the color palette but was hoping to step out of the box a tad.

While the colors you picked out are pretty, it's still the same beiges and tans. Don't just step out of the box a tad, JUMP out of the box! Because in the end, it will still be beige.

I wish LynninNewMexico was around so you could see her beautiful tiled bathroom with a lot of accent tiles.

I don't know why you can't use a colorful accent tile even if you stayed with the beige pallete you've chosen.

One thing I'd change though is the color of the granite. I may do things differently, but I'd choose the paint, tile and flooring first, then find the right shade of granite to complete it.

Have you done a search on blue tiled bathrooms? I personally love blue and white bathrooms. Very clean and fresh looking.

Lukki- I am my own worst enemy. Are you saying to use the white and creamy travertine in the shower? Or that either work? I think I'm really dense sometimes. I'd love to see an example of your shower wall. I think that is what hubby is wanting.

Oak- to me out of the box is all white with maybe blue accents. Actually all the rooms in my house are colorful but for the expensive stuff like tile, carpet, cabinets I have stayed neutral. I don't plan to move any time but who knows what the future will hold so I've tried to keep that in mind. I know I can always paint pretty cheaply. So I am scared to go wild. Plus my tastes are always changing so I hate to be stuck with something that may seem avocado green or harvest gold to me in a few years.

itltrot - it would have to be one or the other, white tile or the light travertine, the two would not work together. Here is a board to show you what I'm talking about. The Chairo pictured is available at Lowes and the Ivory Tumbled is available at The Tile Shop. Either would be pretty with the darker granite. What you want to do is use the same tile which ever you choose throughout the bathroom (even the floor maybe instead of the wood tiles ) as well as the shower and change the sizes of your tile in different areas to add interest.

There are several granites that are similar to the Blue Pearl. I would go with a darker granite for contrast with the mosaic. As you can see on the board, the Pearl Blue is a little too light against the mosaic but the darker granite pops. You could do the pencils and chair rail for the wall feature and accents in Noir Travertine which is black in color and is available at The Tile Shop, see link below. Prices are high on their site but less expensive in the stores especially with a contractors discount.

I would do the floor of the shower in the cream Travertine mosaic. The walls in a larger tile, 12x12. You just need to go look at tiles to find the one that will work best in the space. Here's the design I came up with for our feature wall and bathroom. As you can see, I just repeated the sizes to tie all the areas together. Hope this helps.

Ahh that accent tile got nixed. Once I saw it in person it wasn't what I hoped it was. To light and to blue. There was another I found that looked like it might belong better. Blues creams browns. Its in the other thread towards the bottom. I can't post it because I'm on my phone and my laptop isnt working. Grr.

I looked at the Blue Pearl granite on another website, it's much bluer than the picture above, according to my monitor.

Love the color, and with all white cabs, matching blue accent tiles, it would really look nice.

Except I think using a white tile in the shower area, including floor..instead of the beige you have picked out would really look beautiful.

I think it's the beige that's throwing me off.

Hi itltrot! I'm looking at this thread just as I am out the door to work - but I have to say I am in love with the pecan wood tiles for your floor! Can you tell me more about them.
Also - I did my kitchen a couple of years ago with blue pearl with glass accent tiles. It wasn't a real high end job - but here's a photo if interested! The glass accent tiles are from Daltile and I thought they looked great with the blue pearl.

I really appreciate all the input. I know I am putting to much pressure on myself. I've waited 10 years to remodel this decaying bathroom and want it to be beautiful.

mcps- I'd love to share the information! They are Interceramic Colonial wood tile. They have 3 colors in that series and I think a couple more series with other woodgrains. Here are the color options in the series I am looking at. I have samples in all 3 colors and have really fallen in love with the Pecan and Walnut. Hubby vetoed the Walnut as being to dark.

That 1x2 mosaic "brick" tile would look lovely with the white tile or tavertine.

I think I am leaning more towards the creamy tile because I'm worried about the white tile and grout maintenance especially on the shower floor. I can also find the creamy tile in larger sizes which eliminates some grout lines.

I think I'll order a sample tile of the brick mosaic for some real life comparisons.

If anyone has a free moment, help me some more with the bathroom layout. I think we've decided on one layout but I'm a little stumped on the almost 8' vanity configuration.

Thanks again for the help. I see a tile shopping expedition in my future if I come up with more options I'll post them up.
