What 'cha been doin' with your camera lately?

I asked this question once before and loved the responses. Can we do it again?

Me...My daughter and I went to see Ty Herndon and Shane Minor at a country Summer Jam concert. My daughter got a kiss from Shane and I got a picture of it! Plus SEVERAL pics of Ty Herndon.

Just got back from a trip to Charleston, SC and Cape Lookout, NC. Took rolls of film. Should be back tonight. Can't wait to get them!

Nothing! but am leaving tomorrow for a 5-day vacation to Phoenix area . . .no DH, no kids, no housework . . . . just sun, spa and fun with two other friends. I'm taking my camera, so I'm hoping for some good photo op's.

Hi Teen, Yes and no. I believe it's the 15th day we've had rain, and T-storms during night. Probably most here agree rain water is far better than tap. Most of my plants summered outdoors are succulents. 'Speaking of rain, it's just started.' lol Anyway, I'm not worried about small succulents in 4" pots, but I'm a tad concerned about larger succulents. 8" and bigger. Pro, rain washes leaves, and is chemical-free. A clean rain leaches soil, but Con is daily water washes out nutrients. Doubt fertilizing will help if it continues raining.. Otherwise, foliage looks great. The few tropicals outside are flowering. Another con...next week is supposed to be chilly. Nights low 50's. If soil remains wet there's a chance of root rot. Oh, one last con..IL is very windy. Before and during a T-storm, wind pics up. The other day we had 65 mph. Well, you can imagine the number of plants that flew off tables..my Gardenia, rolled down the stairs, two doors down. lol. On the other hand, a mild breeze is wonderful. Foliage sways...air circulation..and the sweet scent of fragrant flowers permeates the air. What about your plants? Are they enjoying the rain? Toni

I live in zone 6b not zone 2. Crape Myrtles are listed in most references as being hardy in my zone. They don't bloom well here like they do down South because of the lack of summer heat. But from my observations, the fall foliage is superior to what they exhibit in the South. Even though I live in MA, I grew up in Alabama and I missed seeing certain Southern plants including Crape Myrtles. I like to push the limits of perceived hardiness of plants and wanted to give some Crape Myrtles a try. They are quite root hardy where I live and are rarely killed outright. The first year or two can be a little dicey here as far as the top growth is concerned but once established like mine are now, the top growth can handle substantial cold snaps. I've had the Hopi CMs for 7 years and the Acoma for 8. I've had a Red Rocket and Pokemoke too for about 6 years but their top growth is not as hardy as the other two varieties. However, they are definitely root hardy here.

The original recipe called for green bell peppers. I used red because I love the way it looks in the jars. I think yellow and orange would also be pretty. We just got in from picking everything in the garden. We have gone longer this year without a frost warning, and even though it was getting cold, they said there was no frost warning up until 5:00 PM this evening, and then all of a sudden weather.com was issuing a FREEZE warning for our area. Picked about 50 lbs. of green tomatoes. More than half should ripen without a problem. The rest will make pickles, and relish. I always freeze some for frying, and some for that great green tomato bread recipe. I hope you try the relish recipe and enjoy it as much as we do.

What HAVEN'T they been up to? LOL. Xena likes to steal. About three times a day I have to find and return the christmas-tree shaped plant pick that she steals from a mini-rose on the kitchen table. I tried taking it out and putting it away, but in a fit of pique she started to eat the blooms! Back the pick went, back to stealing went Xena, and no more flowers became mutilated. So far this system is working for us. Jasmine is being quite the sucky baby. If my posture even suggests the existance of a lap, she is on it. I leaned against a low box the other day while taking a phone call and she scrambled right up like I was sitting in an armchair or something. Then she proceeded to look perturbed because there really wasn't enough lap there to lay across and she was clutching with all her worth and STILL sliding down my legs. She has perfected the art of "log rolling" - as I turn over at night, she skillfully balances and walks as I turn, then settles onto whatever side ends up at the top when I am done. I suppose I wouldn't mind all the warm snuggly attention. But she drools. Ew! LOL Ruby? What can I say about Ruby. Today I wore make-up because we were going to a local pizza joint to celebrate DD's birthday with family. I had a few moments before it was time to leave so I snuck in a few moments of reading. She trampled over to me across the back of the couch, placed her paw on my head to steady it, and proceeded to sniff all over my face. First she inspected the eye shadow. Then she sniffed each individual eye lash, running her flat nose along the length of each one. She checked out the blush on both cheeks. But the best snurffle was reserved for last! My lipstick. Burts Bees, and it has a bit of mint in it. She sniffed and snotted and sniffed some more. Then she delicately gagged in my face (she does not like the smell of mint at all LOL). No wonder I don't "make myself up" very often!

Not much. But will be spending the 4th at 2 different family reunions, so will get lots of pics there. And then we're going to the MOntreal Jazz Fest that same week and we're going to see Ray Charles, so I'll take pics of that too.

I actually have had the same roll of film in my camera for 2 weeks with only 1 picture left to finish the roll!! I keep forgetting to take a pic of my daughter!! Ugh.

I have'nt been taking too many picture's either. We start our vacation now. Don't have to go to work for two weeks.
yea? yea? Thursday we are going to leave on a plane and go see my brother and family that lives in Seattle Washington
and my husband has never been in a big airplane just a four seated.
We have'nt told his mom yet that we are going because she don't want him too fly. He is going to tell her Wedensday night.

I took my kids to the aquarium last week. Sons first time, (he is 2). Can't wait to get the pictures back. My daughter's dance recital is this weekend. Always lots of pictures there. Then off to Maine on Monday for a few days vacation.

I recently took pictures of my daughter's car, and personalized license plate, even though she has had it for over 4 years, just so I can use some cute car pages. LOL Penny

It's never too late. I've been working on a 'Season' page for about 100 years. I want a page that shows our house in each season. I just took the 'Summer' pic yesterday. The last one I needed.

I am doing the same kind of seasons page so that when I go home In can shoe my friends and family what the house looked like each season.

Don't know how to set it up though.

I am going to have some great pics to work with soon. I went whitewater rafting today and got some good pics.

I also have a great idea for some pictures I took just after I got here. I have some loveley summer looking pictures(was Feb) and then the next day pictures was everything covered in snow. My title for the page I am going to do is "What a difference a day makes"

My sister Sue and I just got back from a trip to SC last week. We had a great time! We hiked to a few waterfalls and took LOTS of pics. Also, we went to this country store on the side of the road on Saturday night and the people that live in the mountains all come down and play mountain music...at least that was until it rained. Also, some pics of us panning for rubies, gold and amythests. Wish I was back there! OH! I almost forgot, we also took the tour of the Biltmore Estate.

Well my niece and nephew have just arrived from PA and I have took pictures of them in my daughter's hot tub, and at the school playground across the street. I think I will have to take some of them destroying my scrap room though as that is where they like to play the best. Penny

DH & I just returned from the San Diego SB Expo (attended on Saturday). Then on Sunday we took the bus to Tijuana for the day. On Monday we went to the S.D. Zoo before coming home that night. WHEW!
Got lots of pictures, tho (4 rolls in all).
