What 'cha been doin' with your camera lately?

I asked this question once before and loved the responses. Can we do it again?

Me...My daughter and I went to see Ty Herndon and Shane Minor at a country Summer Jam concert. My daughter got a kiss from Shane and I got a picture of it! Plus SEVERAL pics of Ty Herndon.

Just got back from a trip to Charleston, SC and Cape Lookout, NC. Took rolls of film. Should be back tonight. Can't wait to get them!

Nothing! but am leaving tomorrow for a 5-day vacation to Phoenix area . . .no DH, no kids, no housework . . . . just sun, spa and fun with two other friends. I'm taking my camera, so I'm hoping for some good photo op's.

Hi Teen, Yes and no. I believe it's the 15th day we've had rain, and T-storms during night. Probably most here agree rain water is far better than tap. Most of my plants summered outdoors are succulents. 'Speaking of rain, it's just started.' lol Anyway, I'm not worried about small succulents in 4" pots, but I'm a tad concerned about larger succulents. 8" and bigger. Pro, rain washes leaves, and is chemical-free. A clean rain leaches soil, but Con is daily water washes out nutrients. Doubt fertilizing will help if it continues raining.. Otherwise, foliage looks great. The few tropicals outside are flowering. Another con...next week is supposed to be chilly. Nights low 50's. If soil remains wet there's a chance of root rot. Oh, one last con..IL is very windy. Before and during a T-storm, wind pics up. The other day we had 65 mph. Well, you can imagine the number of plants that flew off tables..my Gardenia, rolled down the stairs, two doors down. lol. On the other hand, a mild breeze is wonderful. Foliage sways...air circulation..and the sweet scent of fragrant flowers permeates the air. What about your plants? Are they enjoying the rain? Toni

Misty is definitely not keen on her 'treads'! That picture was the funniest and may eventually end up in a frame. When we first put the booties on, we put them on her first and then put our winter coats on. I went to close the closet door and it didn't close properly. When I looked down to see what the problem was, this is what I saw: The kitchen is usually NOT neat :-) In the original house, where the kitchen table is now was the dining portion of an L shaped living room/dining room. There was a window where you can see the doorway on the right side behind the chair and the main kitchen window looking into the backyard started above where you can see the dishwasher by the stove. The addition we put on runs behind that side, so the window to the right of the table became the doorway to the pantry and the window above the dishwasher and sink is an opening looking into the living room. The original living room became the dining room after we put up the wall - and doorway to the dining room - on the left side of the table. That left a long, narrow kitchen that would have had no windows! So the window you see there now had to be knocked through the outer wall as part of the renovation. That gave it a nice wide windowsill that is perfect for plants! There are counters and cabinets on both sides of the kitchen, with the counters on the left side being short - 30" tall - and the ones on the right 36" tall. The shorter counter makes it easy for me to sit to work at the counter if need be. There are sinks on both sides too - as well as one in the pantry. And there is a fridge in both the kitchen and the pantry. The pantry has a long counter on one side with no base cabinets to make it really easy to use that surface as a work space - that's where I did all the drawing work for the course I took last winter. When I planned the kitchen, my intent was to make it as efficient and usable as possible for as long as possible given the many unknowns about where my health issues will go. So far it's worked quite well. We did think, when we moved in, 'At last, lots of storage space in the kitchen' but we could still use more space....:-) One of the odd things in the kitchen is that the floor is uneven just about where the picture starts. The old stairs to the basement went down under the cabinets at the entrance to the kitchen. The new stairs go down outside the kitchen and, when the old stairway was filled in with new joists, it became very obvious that the original house had sunk on one side because the joists would not meet on the level! My early iteration of the pro-style range genre was a revelation to me when I got it almost 20 yearo ago. Its highest burner is, maybe 15K, but functionally less since I had to install the propane conv. kit. But still. I went from just heating food to actually cooking it and, after I burnt a fair number of things, I don't think I could ever be happy with the mingy BTUs in my old gas stove. I also love the infra-red broiler. I am using just induction now as we have the range apart for repairs (and since it's a Honey-Do project - as I defintely don't do gas - it's been taking forever) - the induction is OK, efficient, etc. but it doesn't come close to real FIRE! May be over the hols, we'll get the range back on line. After the new market garden fencing is completed; which will happen after the irrigation system is completely blown out and drained, after the roof over the fire truck is reshingled, after, after, after, each of these things that must happen before serious winter arrives. I can't put all the blame on my DH, I've been as distracted and dilatory as anybody. Too much time dawdling on the KF, I fear. L.

You guys are doing really creative/fun (to me) stuff; I love seeing it all! Thanks to Thistledew—and to this thread (which was a great topic, btw)—we now know who has what talents/interests and that could be a great resource for us all as we tackle our own projects, don’t you think? “I am always working on my Genealogy hobby. I love working on enlarging the family trees for family and friends. There is always a mystery to solve!” I’m working on that too, ghoghunter. Unfortunately (or fortunately depending on how you look at it), it’s a project without a finish line! And sure enough, I’m in the thick of trying to solve a huge mystery right now! I’m also working—little by little—on organizing the house. Here’s one of the current works in progress: Anybody else’s sewing box look like this?

Not much. But will be spending the 4th at 2 different family reunions, so will get lots of pics there. And then we're going to the MOntreal Jazz Fest that same week and we're going to see Ray Charles, so I'll take pics of that too.

I actually have had the same roll of film in my camera for 2 weeks with only 1 picture left to finish the roll!! I keep forgetting to take a pic of my daughter!! Ugh.

I have'nt been taking too many picture's either. We start our vacation now. Don't have to go to work for two weeks.
yea? yea? Thursday we are going to leave on a plane and go see my brother and family that lives in Seattle Washington
and my husband has never been in a big airplane just a four seated.
We have'nt told his mom yet that we are going because she don't want him too fly. He is going to tell her Wedensday night.

I took my kids to the aquarium last week. Sons first time, (he is 2). Can't wait to get the pictures back. My daughter's dance recital is this weekend. Always lots of pictures there. Then off to Maine on Monday for a few days vacation.

I recently took pictures of my daughter's car, and personalized license plate, even though she has had it for over 4 years, just so I can use some cute car pages. LOL Penny

It's never too late. I've been working on a 'Season' page for about 100 years. I want a page that shows our house in each season. I just took the 'Summer' pic yesterday. The last one I needed.

I am doing the same kind of seasons page so that when I go home In can shoe my friends and family what the house looked like each season.

Don't know how to set it up though.

I am going to have some great pics to work with soon. I went whitewater rafting today and got some good pics.

I also have a great idea for some pictures I took just after I got here. I have some loveley summer looking pictures(was Feb) and then the next day pictures was everything covered in snow. My title for the page I am going to do is "What a difference a day makes"

My sister Sue and I just got back from a trip to SC last week. We had a great time! We hiked to a few waterfalls and took LOTS of pics. Also, we went to this country store on the side of the road on Saturday night and the people that live in the mountains all come down and play mountain music...at least that was until it rained. Also, some pics of us panning for rubies, gold and amythests. Wish I was back there! OH! I almost forgot, we also took the tour of the Biltmore Estate.

Well my niece and nephew have just arrived from PA and I have took pictures of them in my daughter's hot tub, and at the school playground across the street. I think I will have to take some of them destroying my scrap room though as that is where they like to play the best. Penny

DH & I just returned from the San Diego SB Expo (attended on Saturday). Then on Sunday we took the bus to Tijuana for the day. On Monday we went to the S.D. Zoo before coming home that night. WHEW!
Got lots of pictures, tho (4 rolls in all).
