What is it with men and flowers?
Comments (49)The best true plantsmen I have known were men. A young man i knew made a paradise out of a hillside that was the most beautiful garden in our neighborhood and got me started in serious gardening. He could have won show prizes but instead was extremely modest and shared his blooms with neighbors and the church. Another was a gentleman from S. Korea who built a fantastic sculpted " mountain" with waterfalls and manicured plants in pristine Japanese style garden in the back. These two did their work alone from scratch, no work crew or designers. The great rosarian and rose hybridizer Tom Carruth turned Huntington Library's rose garden into one of the most beautiful gardens in the world today. I am truly grateful to have watched it go from a lovely garden to a masterpiece in a few short years. Hooray for men plantsmen. Your dedication and skill is irreplaceable....See MoreWRONG WRONG WRONG
Comments (5)It was wrong at “pressure treated curb”. And some Frankenstein mix of 3 different waterproofing systems. PVC membranes, Kerdi, and Redguard do not make a shower waterproof. It makes a shower suspect. You have the choice of not paying and forcing a rip out, or moving forward. If you force the issue, be prepared for resistance. And be prepared to end up with the relationship damaged. I might send him the link to Schluters videos on YouTube. In preparation for a clarification meeting. It may not go well. Unless he is open to being educated....See MoreMen’s watch recommendations?
Comments (22)Great choice. It's a classic can't fail. Penny design, If you really want one but balk at the price, consider Tourneau's pre-owned. They always have good inventory and stand behind what they sell. They are refurbished and cleaned and come w a warranty. I recently bought a used Brietling for DH through them. He had bought a fake one at the market in Morocco just as a goof for like 30 bucks, and ended up liking it. (so not him, go figure). I was going to buy him a real one but I knew he would not want me to spend that much. I bought him a used one from Tourneau and it looks brand new for IIRC a third the price....See MoreWhat's the best electric men's shaver?
Comments (5)I've had a couple of electric shavers and went back to safety razors. My Remington worked the best of the two. When using electric shavers, I had a problem of developing skin rash and irritation and these shavers do not work as well as a blade. A safety razor with Barbasol shaving cream worked the best for me. The Barbasol lather is very good and the least expensive plus you get a good face wash. The best buy in disposable Gillette safety razors is the large pack at Sam's Club. I have used a Gillette holder with double edged blades as well but found there is a greater hazard of accidental cuts with these. The cuts occurred not while shaving, but at other times....See MoreSandiD
