to get rid of millipedes - submerge the whole pot in water if you can - in a bucket. they will crawl out and drown. but the whole surface should be under water - or else they'll crawl up. another trick is to put some water in a container without holes and put your pot into it tight (same diameter) with bottom above water - they'll crawl out towards water and drop and drown in it. i'd cut off the damaged leaves - the plant should produce new healthy ones and may be even branch. Fisherman's Paradise is a large standard. This is still a relatively young plant and it is already about 12" across. This one is Fun Trail and has been blooming constantly for about a month now with lots of fantasy on the blooms.

ambbutterfly: I don't know much about plant genetics, but my guess is that you are correct. I imagine that over generations certain charccteristics of the plant could be bred out of the strain. However, Yvonne is now elderly and unable to garden. She passed a huge number of seeds on to Emily and asked her to distribute them to other gardeners to carry on the strain. If nobody grows them, the plant would just die off completely. For the time being at least, a few of us fortunate novice home gardeners get to experience the fun of raising this wonderful plant. Hopefully, the strain will remain fairly true to it's parentage. It is my guess that, because it is spreading by leaps and bounds (thanks, Yvonne and Emily!), that it is not too far away from the reach of some unscrupulous commercial grower who will make a fortune. (Not Yvonne's wish). I have sent out about 60 packs of seeds this year myself, and Emily more than that. There are also gardeners on the Yvonne's Salvia group distributing it. We all do our part. Many message boards don't seem to have decent instructions on posting pics, if they have any info at all. Guess that's where we all come in :-)
