Lindy, You have done an awesome job. I showed the pic to our contractor and he used it to start doing the brick facing on the new posts. I think we have decided to do a gate in the fence on the right to go into the back yard. May be what we need to get that side yard done. Do you have the Burgundy color? I REALLY like the spring dust color-- and like decorpas, I am a big fan of baby turtle. It seems to adapt to every location just perfectly. I would stick in this range if you tend to go in an authentic tuscan direction.. tuscan is earthy not the bright shiny bastardization that the dept stores have turned it into. Of course, there is nothing wrong with the dept store interpretation of tuscan decor but honestly, you have such great earthy and natural colors in your kitchen now, that I'd think the true tuscan colors would work so much better. You just have to work with that pie safe and let it be your guide, in my opinion. What about some earthier pottery/pitchers? I had a great one from rowe pottery that I WISH i could find to show you (and to replace for myself). It was a lemonade pitcher/euer. There are many other potters though who make beautiful earthy pieces. Maybe some iron or wood pieces? I have an iron and wood rooster in my dining room that would look great in there. It was a gift but I know my mom picked it up at an outlet or TJ Maxx kind of place. Not sure how the table fits in.. is the top decoupaged? tin? I definitely get more of a vintage americana feel from the room. Will you be replacing the americana stuff or working it in? Regardless of what direction you go, I love the pie safe and the warmer greens. I wouldn't be so worried about baby poop color-- as I think of it as homey warm pea soup color :)

I'm sorry this took so long. The last week of school activities are getting to be more than I thought...whew! Anyway, I tried tans and beiges first but they really looked washed out next to the lighter cabinets to me. No way on the yellows, it really didn't go well with the pickled cabinets at all. I really felt like you needed green to pull everything together. Choosing the right one is going to be tricky though. Did you paint the green cabinets yourself? Maybe use that same strip and go down 2 or 3 shades. Anyway, I also think your curtains would be okay with this color but I tried a Roman Shade for you too so you can see how that might look. Oh, squirrelheaven thank you so much for your photoshopping. I love the tapestries but I think I might like the arts and crafts tiles better. I agree that the lamp needs to show, and this may do it better. The wall is actually a bit bowed out in a nice little triple-type curve so the symmetrical look of the two chairs under the windows with the table in the center really works (rather than the table to the side). I will definitely look into these tiles. The people at this forum are fabulous, and very helpful. I think I need to learn how to photoshop.
