Happy New Year to everybody!!!....took off last Friday and made it a long weekend and back to reality tomorrow (ugh). I wish good health and happiness to all of you in the coming year!

OOPS!!! Sorry I didn't know that about Jan. 1 being "everybody's" birthday, if a specific date isn't given. Oh well, Happy Birthday, whenever it is. :>) Mwoods, your statement about each year bringing "joy, laughter, and some tears" is so true. None of us ever knows what's ahead for us. But, as my DH says, "It's been a trip, but I wouldn't change any of it!"

Happy New Year to you, too! To take more pictures. There really is something to having an annual video diary of the garden. The Juniperus scopulorum I planted as 6 inch seedlings in 09 are now 5 - 6 feet tall. I have an apricot I planted as a 2 ft whip 2 years ago that's now approaching 8 ft. These are wins I should celebrate more! Last night I downloaded a couple of maps of champion tree tours in nearby towns. I plan to visit them over time. I'm hoping that will help me learn to work smarter, not harder by choosing trees that will grow here. And yes, worry less! I think that's on my list every year. Barb

K-J, sorry you had to work on the holiday. Then again, I probably should have gone to work. I paid for it today with all the "stuff" I had to do. I'm off tomorrow and everyone else is back to work. I can only imagine what Friday will bring when I return.

I love my residents, so I enjoy going to work.

I can relate to 'going back' after a day off - I used to be a bank teller!

Bank teller - my sister did that for 17 years. Now she is an aesthetician - go figure!! I will say that she was/is excellent at both professions - sister or not. I know thing though, banking sure has changed. I remember when she told me that a machine would replace a teller job. I thought she was CRAZY - and now look; we even have totally online banking. Who would have though...
