I am having fun with this. This light feature is for my four best clients (My wife and three daughters). I often find inspiration at work or when talking with clients. I tell my clients just to spit stuff out - wish list, likes etc. There is no such thing as a crazy idea in my book. If you can think it - most likely there is a way to build it. My inspiration for this detail came from working with such nice products and such a skilled designer on our last project. The steps needed to make it waterproof are easy - the advice is all around us. I will show you my fully completed rig once done. I'm going to try and source an inexpensive LED light system with most likely 3 lights, light controller and remote (similar to the shower lights we used last from the UK). When I roughed in my home I ran some extra dedicated 12/2 and 14/2 lines into these attic cavities. The bathroom lighting circuits have been keep separate to allow me to expand my finishing touches as my bank account slowly expands from it's compressed and sad state. For the next year or so it will be a trouble light and an extension cord! Good for now. The effect is still there. I have 3 other light features planned for the home. Stand by for mock ups... Hi Cory someone questioned me on why I waste peoples time with these silly, ,unsafe ideas that nobody else would ever use. I have had great success with these ideas so I shared them on garden web. The electric setup I used would be frowned on by an electrical inspector. That I agree with. A shop vacuum should be used to suck out extra water or aerate roots. The bucket could be fitted with a light box and ceramic fixture and be grounded. The big box already had the wire junctions secured properly. The question, is any one using any of my ideas or am I wasting space and time that helps no one. You can buy a reflective 8 ft by 4 foot at 6.5 feet tall Mylar grow tent for under $200. I just happen to be under employed with a lot of scraps to use up and my box was FREE. I will continue to use my grow box and grow bucket ( after electrical safety fixes. They are FREE and very effective. I will use the vacuum system when needed for medical plant services. Its Free. Thanks for the compliment on my trees. steve

The easiest thing to do would be to fill it with several good sized potted houseplants that appreciate lower light conditions. 5-6 feet away from a south facing window is not ideal. And not anywhere close to what herbs need. Don't try to plant it. Just use it as a large cache pot to set the individual pots in. You can disguise the tops with a layer of moss if you like. Using the plants in individual pots will make it easy to take care of them re: watering, fertilizing, repotting, etc. I'd pick plants with some contrasting forms.......sansevieria, peace lily, maybe a fern

The most common approach is to hang something in front of the panel. My panel is also in the front entry hall and so I have a large picture in front of it. In my experience I almost never need to access the panel since my electrical system is more than adequate for my electrical needs and so I have only had to reset a breaker once in three three years. I had more frequent occurrences before I remodeled and got a new panel because I would forget that my microwave and toaster were on the same circuit and so I would have to reset if I used at the same time. Because you also have the switch next to it a picture isn't really a solution. Either move the switch which is somewhat of a hassle since you have to repair the drywall OR use @Lynne Om (9A, New Smyrna Beach,FL) 's suggestion and use a lightweight hanging of some kind. I have hung some fabrics in my home including a vintage kimono and a small embroidered hanging my mother did.
