Favorite facial moisturizers and body soap/wash?
Comments (24)I use arbonne products for my face and Jason body wash for the rest of the body. In colder months, I use a lavender oil salt scrub from Trader Joes. Body moisturizer I use a coconut cream from Trader Joes too. Most of my beauty products are organic (except for hair conditioner). I have pretty much tried everything out there, and can't believe what I like the most I buy at TJs. But over the last few years I've had a few very young friends diagnosed with strange cancers. I had a bone tumor, my sister had a thyroid tumor, my next door neighbor had a huge lung tumor (all of which were benign- thank goodness) but it made me wonder about all the chemicals we expose ourselves too daily. So I've decided to go organic, in food, beauty products, and limit my family's exposure to all of the toxic chemicals available in main stream supermarkets. I know, not what you asked for in your original post, but something to think about....See MoreBody wash?
Comments (10)I've used Nexus (sp?) and other high-buck fru-fru brands and I've used Suave and White Rain. I'll stick with the latter. The brand I've been buying lately is White Rain Extra Body. Best shampoo I've used in a long time. Use less, cleans better and seems to stay clean longer. Doesn't feel like the slime on there that others have. I get a "bonus" bottle with 20% more for 99¢ and it lasts over a year with the little bit needed. However now I use Old Spice Body & Hair wash since I got it on sale BOGO, clearance for $1.24 and had a $1 coupon so for pennies a bottle I stocked up. And it works fairly well on the hair. Although the shampoo does a little better but it saves time. There's a lot of promos going on now for body wash. Watch the stores for clearance. Target is great for discontinuing stuff and putting it on clearance. They start at 30% off, then go to 50% then to 70%. When they have a bunch, it goes to 70% often. And when it's a buy one get one, all the better....See MoreAre soap car wash plastic barrels safe to use if washed out?
Comments (27)You'd be amazed at the harsh chemicals they use to clean bottles and cans that are used for food storage. But ... they wash out. The chemicals in your dishwasher and washing machine cleaners aren't that nice either. Good that they wash out. The question is less how harsh they are, and more how soluble they are. The ones you named are highly soluble. Granted that some ugly petrochemicals aren't that soluble in water, but can be broken down with soap....See MoreWashing whites 120F vs. 140F vs. 150F vs. 160 vs. 195F :-O
Comments (15)@Jerrod....I have my Miele Little Giant washer programmed to Cold fill (actually, I even turned the hot water valve to OFF). So, my washer fills with tap cold and then gradually heats to the Temp I have set (Little Giant cycles are via exact temps...nothing says warm, cold, hot, etc...). So, I'm thinking I am getting optimal results in regards to temps working with enzymes and then ramping up to my "hot" set temp! I LOVE this washer more each day. In the past, after 6 months or a year with an appliance, I would be looking & cruising new models ;) But....I don't think I would ever want to be without my LiGi. I would sell it for an OctoPlus though. Just sayin' LOL...See Morecynic
