Garage Door Opener Problems-Craftsman 1/2
Comments (2)Thank you everyone that helped me with this. It is fixed now! Somebody posted the Tech Support direct line and the lady walked me through every single step until it was opertating perfectly! For FREE! Wow! She had me read the yellow blinking light on the box as it was blinking 4 times then pausiing which is a sensor issue. Then she had me detach the receving eye sensor, pointed it at the ceiling for a few seconds, then reinstalled making sure the green lights stayed on both of them. Pulled the rope down on the trolly, then loosened the nuts on the chain screw while making sure the chain did NOT twist, and tightened the nuts down until the chain was about 1/2" above the T-rail. Very important not to get this too tight/not more than 1/2" above the rail. After trying everything from hundreds of posters, this phone number finished the job: 1-800-528-9131. I was this close to buying a whole new opener, so lesson learned: Keep asking for help until everything has been exhausted!...See MoreCraftsman 1/2 HP Garage Door Opener - Only one works!
Comments (153)Hi everyone, I know i sound like a tape recorder but my craftsman 1/2 hp has been working fine for 3 yrs. Not sure what happened to the remotes, but they stopped working. I first tried replacing the batteries but after that didnt work i went out and brought two brand new up to date chamberlain klik3u universal garage remotes. Retail 40 bucks per. They say in the manual they are compatible to my garage opener which was manufactured in 1997. They wont program as well. My garage opens and closes fine. I guess im here to find out if anyone has any other trouble shooting facts to program because the "press the red button like a door bell, hit the button you want programmed" basics isnt working for me. I called chamberlain about the remotes and they basically told me go jump in a lake, all our remotes program fast and easy!!! I need help ppl. Plzzzzz...See MoreCraftsman 1/2 hp Garage Door Opener Problem
Comments (5)'96 Craftsman 139 53648SRT model 1) problems closing....go down a lil a come back up. RPM sensor I suspect ??? 2) LED flashing 5 times.....RPM sensor ? 3) while researching above problems...now when the remote or wall unit (no pad) is engaged, there is nothing but a slight/quick "humming" noise..and nothing happens. This is a new symptom. 4) I have checked/tired to align the infra red sensors.... this model has both lights on constant, regardless of whether they are in sync or not. I checked the wiring from teh sensors back to the motor/unit. I'm not sure how to align them now. QUESTIONS: which do I address first ? I'm not sure I can align the infra red sensors without the "humming" and no activity when I engage the opener. Should I look at the RPM sensor first ? Is the gear stripped ??? causing the humming and non activity ? The opener was opening before I started working on it. Thanks to anyone and everyone who has advice on this....See MoreCraftsman 1/2 hp Garage Door problem
Comments (1)The part you need is called a trolley. I would call a local door opener repair shop and see if they would sell me a used one. Might even get some useful installation instructions....See Morekywingnut
