bi-fold door install

I want to install bi-fold doors in the closet areas of the house. Problem is the door openings are not 100% square.

I have two openings, 48" wide, that slant downward from left to right by about 3/16" of an inch.

When I install the track, and put up the doors, the two sides are not even along the top.

Anyone know of a simple trick to either hide the out of square condition (wide trim maybe?), or play with the doors and track to offset this condition, without having to rip out the door jamb and reinstall it 100% square?

You could trim the doors to fit the opening.
You could trim the doors to fit square in the opening and install a piece of 3/4" quarter round to cover the wedge.

Most door openings aren't square. 3/16" over 7' or so really isn't that bad. I'd hang the door as best you can and move on.

You might notice the imperfection now, but nobody else is going to.

I think it depends on the price point of your home. If its a starter home on the smaller size, then do the big box stores. They are probably the least expensive and you could paint them yourself. If you are in an estate home...more expensive home in your area, then go to a door distributor to get a solid door instead of the hollow doors from a big box store.

We had louvered doors on all of our closets and switched them out. There was only one closet that we noticed a ventilation issues and we cut a hole and installed a vent. It's painted the same color as the wall and you can't even tell it's there.

Barn door? If you don't mind seeing the washer and dryer, you could install a panel to cover the hot water heater and just unscrew it when you need access, which you probably won't need very often.
