I have read many times that local custom cabinets can be less expensive than cabinets ordered through larger companies. That was never true in my market. I hope it turns out to work for you. In case it doesn't, consider ready-to-assemble brands like Barker Cabinet or - and this is the way I'm going for most of my cabinets - IKEA, which you have access to in Canton, MI.

Perhaps it depends on how hard the freeze or how long it lasts, because I can tell you that mine did not come back after having suffered two nights in the low 20s. I'm not much of a risk taker when it comes to my garden, as I've gardened here in Northern Michigan for my whole life, beginning when I was a very small child on this same farm and I'll be 70 in a few weeks. I've spent way too many days chasing down seedlings because I got impatient and put them out too early, I've finally nearly outgrown that "hurry up" tendency. I still succumb occasionally but usually I just wait, reminding myself that another week or two isn't going to make that much difference in most of my garden crops no matter how anxious I am for that first tomato sandwich or the chance for my onions to get an ounce heavier. I've also learned (mostly) not to plant things that just don't like to grow here, but that's a whole 'nother behavior I had to overcome! Annie

I suspect that being located in overflow suburbs coming out of Chicago may have something to do with the tree's size, since the temperature likely does not drop quite as low there, I would assume. Very cold freezing temperatures tend to impose a height limit on trees. Yet the tree is also likely to grow taller because it is not farther south and the summer time temperatures are not as hot. Oakbrook appears to be just 25 miles north of this tree's natural range. I also notice the roots look like they have plenty of room and do not look like they are having to compete with any other significant plants in the area. A tall tree like that will definitely need a lightning rod in the Midwest.

That is a whole different size of Sycamore!
