I like having only one pull per drawer, no matter how wide the drawer. That way you can open the drawer with one hand without placing stress on the drawer. It's important to have smoothly-operating glides if you go this route, though. I also placed the pulls on my deep drawers at the top of the drawer fronts (not centered top to bottom), to make them easier to reach. I used a 5" pull on drawers 30" and wider, a 4" pull on drawers narrower than that (exception was my 15" pullout pantry, where I used a 5" pull).

Yes, go with one centered pull. You don't want to be forced into a situation where you can only open the drawers with two hands (who ever has TWO free hands?!) or the drawer/glides will just end up ruined. One long pull is a more contemporary design and functions well. I've had a kitchen with that look but in my new kitchen we're doing a vintage feel and i'm using 2 cup pulls on all the drawers but will be getting some very antique handles for my pantry and cupboard and will only do one of those (but they have a backplate and so would be too much with 2). I agree with the poster who said on today's cabs you don't need to worry with damaging the glides. I love revans1 red cabs (above) and those pulls are perfect for that look. They're so sturdy, you wouldn't need two. Do what you love.

I researched this recently. It seems most people think below 30", use one pull. Above 30", use two or one extra wide one. The downside of two vs. one extra wide is that you need two hands to open a drawer with two pulls, and usually one hand is already occupied whatever you are intending to put in the drawer. All my drawers are 30", which put me right on the cusp, and nobody seemed to talk about how to decide in that case. I read some guy on a woodworking forum saying modern drawer slides are so good that mechanically, you don't actually need two pulls or an extra wide pull on a 30" drawer - it's just that people tend to prefer that aesthetically. So I did some experiments pulling my 30" drawers open with one finger in the center or pulling on a centered piece of tape, and he was absolutely right. They roll beautifully. (I have Blum hardware, for reference.) As it happened, I found knobs I like, but not pulls, so I am just doing the same one knob on everything - doors and drawers.
