Walmart sale

I was in walmart tonight ( Tuesday) and they have some of their scrapbook items reduced! YEAH! (At least our local store has some items reduced since they are not going to carry that particular item or book anymore) I found some Mickey Mouse, and Little Mermaid pizzaz (sp) 8 x 11 books on sale, for $3-$2.00 each. They had also reduced their boy/girl preprinted paper packs, some of their rubber stamps, Mickey Mouse, and Pooh scrapbook kits, that include the album, and a few other items that I can not remember now. It was great! I got a pack of each of the boy/girl paper, a It's a boy, and It's a girl rubber stamp, a 7 dwarfs stamp, the stamp in the shape of a camera, the stamp in shape of the film strip, and a couple of other odds and ends. They were not with the scrapbook supplies, they were moved to a junk asile in the fabric department, so look and ask around if you don't find them right away in your store they may have moved them too. Good luck and cheap shopping! Penny P.S. Have any of you tried the acid free tape made by scotch, that comes in a regular tape dispenser, today is the first time I have seen it anywhere?

Hey Penny, my daughter and I have been hitting the Walmart clearances, too. How funny, we've bought the same things :) how fun to find $1 and $2 sets! My daughter has found some beautiful wedding and valentine sets, to use in her wedding album! Thanks for sharing with us.

The big question is...should I go back and spend $15 or $20 and have a much larger collection then I have now? I am actively involved in our senior center. Could this be a fund raiser for us. I could spend $50 today. Have some little old ladies get involved with growing little cacti into bigger ones and sell them for...let's say $5. Would this be worth $200.....should I spend $200 and turn it into $1000. Why are these little cacti so cheap!!!

On the dogwoods, it really depends on how far south in Zone 9 you are. Felix, you are in Zone 9a I believe, and I am in Zone 9b. You can grow things I can't, including dogwood. It will SURVIVE here, barely. It normally doesn't thrive here, though. I have on rare occasion seen one doing fairly well, if in enough shade from taller trees, but nothing like dogwoods SHOULD look like. So, Kim, on the dogwood thing...if you are in the southern part of Zone 9, I'd say stay away from them. If they are already planted in your yard and you are moving them (not sure what you meant by "transplanting" them), I'd say leave them alone if they are doing okay. Moving them might finish them off. Most of the other things you mention in your list will probably be fine, except I've had no luck at all with love in a mist. It grows for awhile, but seldom blooms for me, and as soon as it gets hot, it dies. Maybe if you grow it as a winter annual. Good luck! I will be Buying plants from selectedplants again and need to know the names of beefsteaks.Like HD and walmart sale beefsteak.SP sales under different names.I do not want big boy,big beef,better boy, beefseaks r always alot better. ****** Troy, the word "beefsteak" is generic and refers to a shape of a fruit and fewer seeds than others, and nothing more. Longer that higher, kinda shaped like a short boat. Big Beef, Big Boy, Better Boy, etc.,all have beefsteak type fruits. But if you see the B in beefsteak capitalized, as in Beefsteak, that refers to the old variety Red Ponderosa, aka Crimson Cushion. Why don't you discuss with Darrel at selectedplants exactly what you want and I know he'll suggest some good varieties for you to choose from. Carolyn

Today at our local Walmart I found postbound scrapbooks for $3.50. There were 3 to choose from, but I only bought 2. O

One was light purple and the other was powder blue. They were 12x12. They came with 10 pages and included 10 refills. I thought they were nice, so I bought one each for my nieces to scrapbook with.

I also saw Little Mermaid Hot Off The Press books, but with only having boys I passed on them.

The scrapbooks I got were not in the craft section. They were in an aisle on the bottom shelf with a bunch of other miscellaneous items such as weatherstripping, hair items, etc.

I picked up something at Walmart too. It's that white craft table complete with electrical outlet and cups for pens, scissors, etc. They marked it down to 1/2 price for $35!

Ahhh, finally a place to scrap without disturbing anything :) I'll have to look for the scrapbooks.
