I found this image online of Minwax Brazilian stain. Is this close to your color?

I'm no help with the paint, but if your cell phone takes a halfway decent picture, you can put your email address into your phone contacts and send pictures to yourself (even if you don't have internet on your phone). Then save the attachment (photo) from the email onto your computer, upload the picture to tiny pics or photobucket and copy/paste the html code into your message body here.

I have a dumb phone and that works for me; maybe there is an easier way if you have a smart phone and someone will post it.

you can go to the benjamin moore website, and experiment with color in the various style rooms. For the stained trim, just choose a dark brown color.

Jennava I feel your pain. My entire house has stained trim. It is harder to envision a new color on the walls, when all of the pics on line show the wall color with painted trim!
I look forward to seeing if anyone here knows where we can see rooms with stained trim. Unfortunately, I think it is so outdated, that we are not going to find any such rooms. The overwhelming majority have advised me to paint my trim. I would prefer the look of the paint, but the stained trim is maintenance free and I don't think I can give up that feature.

Jen, our vacation home has stained trim and drywall (built in 2001, so newer than your place). I think our trim is a couple of shades lighter than yours.

We used Valspar Sand II in the main living spaces with BM Kona on two accent walls. We used BM Sparkling Wine in the darkest bedrooms and a color-matched RH Glacier in another bedroom. The bathrooms are a beige that escapes me, but was chosen to enhance the tile which didn't blend well in the room. The Sand II looks especially good with the trim, it is a true tan, a little goldish undertone, but definitely brown. Sand II is a slightly darker cousin which might be better for your trim.

Whoops...Sand III is the darker color.

I have a house w/ stained trim. Even more challenging are the stairs, dining room, and study because they have tealish/seafoam carpet. Ugggh. I have BM subtle in two rooms w/ the stained trim. I forget what I have in my kitchen. I'll double check the color later.

I think greens can look nice but most did not work with my carpet. When I was swatching I found I preferred lighter warm neutrals.

My trim is quite similar to the picture posted. I advise you to bring home color strips and tape them to the walls next to the trim. On line pictures really don't do much for your reality because the trim color will vary. I leave the paint strips up to see how they look at different times of the day and in a few days I see some winners out of the group. Then I buy sample pots of the ones that I am interested in and paint up a big piece of cardboard or poster board and leave that next to the trim for a few days. I also check it with my furnishings. I live with it a while before I take the plunge to buy a gallon.

Cindyloo... I thought about painting it too. but it is such a huge undertaking. Our master bedroom trim was painted white before we bought the house. But there is so much trim and crown molding...

sloyd.. thanks for the bungalow site. I had not thought of that!great idea. The olive greens i have now do look good. I am keeping them in the downstairs rooms. They do not need repainting. But i wanted something different, just need a change.

brittone2.. the carpet on the stairs and all upstairs is an old ugly Mauve. ugh! I have ripped it up in two rooms. we are going to replace with laminate. I have two big dogs, and want no more carpet. Family Room has a greyish/beige berber carpet. Not bad, just not good either.

powermuffin... thank you for that idea! I am going to do just that. I am in no great hurry. I have the carpet stripped and furniture moved out of one room, it had been a den and now will be a guest bedroom. Of course all the junk from there has been piled in other rooms but it is upstairs so i can hide it away for a while. I like the idea of the sample pots. Paint has gotten so expensive. I picked up a gallon to touch up the trim on the deck and it was 38 dollars!
