Vesey's - Prince Edward Island, Canada. I buy seeds and bulbs from them and last year got a bareroot peony tree. I've tried peony trees before from other plances and local nurseries and they were in sad shape and never made it. Vesey's impressed me with the one they sent last year - small but what a sturdy tough looking little bugger. Yesterday I noticed that it's thriving and doing so well I might save some $$ to get another this fall. They have been sending out bareroots for a few years and at first were not that great at it but in the last couple of years their quality has improved remarkably. Well worth the SS. The Echs I got were Pink Delight and Virgin. Looking forward to them! Not sure if they still offer them as someone told me they sold out of those two particular ones. I will have seeds in the fall if all goes well... :O)

I winter sowed alpine strawberries last year (the variety 'Ruegen,' from the Pinetree Garden Seeds catalog). I got a handful of nice healthy plants. (I would have had many more if the squirrels hadn't dug into my larger WS container when I uncovered it. Next year I'll know to protect them with wire mesh until they're firmly established. The ones I abused by leaving in the milk jugs waaay too long were just fine and thrived when I planted them out.) I plan on winter sowing more this year. The seedlings were TINY, and stayed that way for quite a while (several weeks) before having a serious growth spurt. Laurel

I take mine my driveway is over a 1/2 mile and gated.. BUT You print out the postage label adhere it and they carry it off for you.. I'm not sure of all of the details ..Michele uses pick-up. Maybe she will pop in and dish.. You don't owe me a thing.. BUT come Fall I would love a cutting of your Verigated Brug if you have one to trade... Kylie

I thought of you first & even skimmed through the MD bowling alleys, there were quite a few. Darn! I got the family pass too. Even if we go once, it's worth it.
