ceiling fan placement in bedroom

I have a small, not-symmetrical T-shaped bedroom that needs a ceiling fan. The bed is in one "arm" of the T, the door and dresser on another, and the closet area is the third section. Currently, the ceiling light is in the center of room if you use the widest length and width dimensions of the room, but it appears off-center in relation to 2 of the walls. (I would post a picture of this, but I don't think I can get one that shows everything.) I'm wondering if I should have the ceiling fan mounted over the bed instead of the existing spot, both for comfort and aesthetic reasons. There is no light kit on the fan.

Any thoughts?
