Scrapbooking CDs

I am thinking of ordering a CD that I can print off die cuts etc. Can anyone suggest one that they use a lot?

I don't have any clip art CD's, but I do have Creative Lettering II, which is pretty good.

I have just ordered "The Day You Were Born" CD, it supposed to have tons of information for any given day. I am looking forward to getting it in the mail and actually using it.

You know what's bad, though? Most of the people that say they have no talent won't even TRY! There are many things that I make that really aren't hard but others see them as being. I would love to teach a few of my family and friends to do these things but they claim they can't and don't have the time! Does anyone have TIME anymore for anything fun? Do people even have hobbies anymore?! I keep reminding myself of the lady at Wal-Mart that works in the craft dept recently telling me that she notices a lot of younger women are getting in to crafting. There are more young women in their 20's (like me!) that are making handcrafted items than there have been for years! Hopefully this increases more and more!

I subscribe to Simple Scrapbooks and find a lot of good ideas in it. I have a softcover book that I refer to everytime I work on a page--Creating Keepsakes, A Treasury of Favorites. Title: Scrapbook Tips and Techniques. $16.96 I got it at Michael's with a 40% off coupon. I'll be watching this thread for more ideas. Have fun with your granddaughter and her scrapbooking projects.

I started back in 97 when my dd was born- today she turns 9! I did her baby book and it was ok. Then I discovered Creative Memories and all the stuff out there. I redid her pages- thanks to double prints- and it is much nicer. I used to use a 3-ring binder and page protectors from office supply store. I used solid paper as my page. I used some stickers and a little journalling. I have since taken all those pages and put them into CM albums. Now I use the regular white pages and use the colored paper for frames or accent strips. To organize and make things go faster I use an easy method. I have a binder with sleeves in it. When I develop film I separate in dated or event order. Then I divide by what pics would fit on a page. I drop those pics into sleeves. Then I take paper that matches the pics and drop it in the sleeve. I may put some stickers in there too. Then when I go to scrap, I just grab a sleeve and work that page. I have already picked out the stuff for the page, just need to assemble. Unfortunatly, I have a digital camera now. It was so easy to develop film and then sort out the pics. Now I have to download onto a CD, take to a place or use an online service. I have not done this yet, which explains why I have over 600 pics to print, and at least half I need doubles of- one for my dd and one for my ds albums. One nice thing about digital is that I can print only what I need, so I may print all my dd birthday pics for her album, but only print a few for my son to have in his. Hey soggy6- aren't you the one with the pool that had plaster then switched to ptec after a crack or something? Are you going to, or do you know about, the event at Newburg Hall down by Sac State on 4/29? My CM gal and her friends are having an all-day event. After spending last year doing the build, it will be nice to spend a day scrapping. I am taking all our vacation pics- the ones before we had kids- and getting them all into albums. Won't be super fancy like my kids books. The goal is to have them in an album instead of not.

When you mean cd's of certain artists, do you mean originals or copies burned to cd? I have lots of Loreena McKennit, Clannad, ALtan, Chieftains, etc., but I'm not willing to part with the originals because I love Celtic music too! If so, I would be willing to burn lots of stuff (nice labels and cover art as well, for wedding themed scrabbook stuff and maybe some tools. My upcoming wedding scrapbook is the first I will attempt, so I want it to turn out nicely, or course. And advice would be happily accepted. I too, am now into digital photography and would love to do scrapbooking on the computer too. Is the software you are in search of the best out there? I have Print Shop pro, but it's a few years old and I haven't played with it much, so I don't know how versatile it might be for scrapbooking. I can feel that this hobby may get addictive and expensive if I let it! Thanks! Debi

Hilary, it is kind of a long story. I have heard about the CD from another scrapbooking forum. I searched Yahoo shopping for it and found a company called Digital River that had the CD available ($11.95 with S/H). So I placed an order with them, however after about 2 monhts of waiting I cancelled the order. The next thing I have tried was Yahoo auctions. This time it cost me $5.50, but I have not received it yet (it has been less than a week since I sent my check). I am getting a little nervous about it, but I figured, that $5.50 is not that big of the deal if somebody cheats me. I do have the seller name and handle so I will write a review about him if the CD does not come.

However, I do have a useful piece of information (you would never guess it, wouldn't you?). There is a web-site called www.dmarie.com and they have collected a lot of information for different dates. There are still many dates missing, but it is free and you can check it out right away. I wish I knew about the site before I paid for my CD.

Victoria, thanks! I went to the site and checked out the "data" section. All the dates I need are there - it'll help make the albums interesting for my children.
