I did olive and peacock in my #1 son's room when he was about 12 years old. It was a beautiful wallpaper with bamboo that formed checks in peacock and olive with a very white background. His furniture was campaign furniture and I matched the blue of the wallpaper and got a friend who owned a body shop to get the furniture painted for me. I put a faux white fur rug on the floor (he was the neat one) and framed his artwork that he did for his room in silver metal frames. That almost makes me cry, so many years ago and yet it was so beautiful and it is a page from a fantastic book that my family and I wrote. They love it when people ask "have you ever used "x" color in your decor?" It is hard for them to imagine a color I have not used in decorating at some point in their lives.

My cabinets are dark. I wanted a light granite. I chose Bianco Romano. I have paired it with floor tile that might be similar in tone to yours as they are matte white with a grayish cast. Sorry I don't have any pictures to show you yet. The floor is in, but the cabs will not be installed till next week, but I think the combination is going to be awesome! Other light granites I explored were Kashmir White, Bianco Antico & Aaran White. These all would give a high contrast look. There are quite a number of mid tone granites if you want to blend rather than contrast. If you are wanting a dark granite, you can always keep your paint & backsplash light to balance out with your floor.

@kpyeatt - I decided to go to Floor & Decor based upon your photos above. I wanted to purchase some tile for one of my fireplaces. FYI - I had never been inside the store before - kinda overwhelming with all the beautiful tile choices on display! The Sahara Carrara tile looks NOTHING like what you have installed in your bathroom! Hardly any variation - and it looks very different from my bianco Carrara tiles. The bianco Carrara is actually from Italy - so, I expected to see a difference - but I didn’t expect the composition actual stone to look as DRAMATICALLY different as it does. The Sahara Carrara had more of a translucent look to it + it kinda looked a bit “sparkly” (not sure how to accurately describe it!) You either got “lucky“ with the batch of tiles you received - OR - I am just “unlucky” based upon the ones available at the store! Maybe the quality has declined over the past three years since others in this thread (including the OP) decided to buy it - who knows??!!? It would be interesting to see photos posted by others who have installed it. Just thought I’d post this in case anyone decides to order some online, and have them shipped without actually seeing the product first. I highly suggest that you order several samples in order to get an accurate feel for how it will look. It’s unfortunate because the price was good - and, based upon your photos, I had high expectations. 😞

Thank you!! Yes!! I actually just tried it and it looks good so far!! That’s what we’re going with so we’ll see! (Our shutters are a little darker or else they may have used a shade darker than QM)
