The Hepatica I usually find (Western NY State) are a pale blue but color can vary. The white you found are quite pretty. Here is a link to the NY Flora Atlas. Search for Hepatica for links to the species here. FataMorgana Here is a link that might be useful: NY Flora Atlas

Since I was here last, I've added about half my current list that's somewhere on here. Where did I put that? Is it my "plants to trade"? Anyway, they're all there, lots and lots of new beauties. I only started collecting roses in 2004, and I added 50-60 this spring. I could now say that I have my Ultimate Rose Wish List complete. ........for now........*wink* Hey, Carla, I remember you. If it helps, I was the nut-case who collected the giant Rose Questionnaire one year and then never (ahem) got back to it. I still have the intention of doing that, if I can just get my darned real-life to-do list caught up!

It's true that Suntory's rose has blue pigment, and has the *potential* to be blue, but it doesn't express as any "bluer" than the mauve/lavender/purples already on the market. The delphindin (blue) gene was spliced into the rose by genetic engineering. But true-blue flowers have much less acidic flower petals than roses. The acidity of the rose petals prevents the delphindin pigment from developing to its full potential. Where this rose's value will lie is as breeding stock, used to pass on the delphindin gene while breeding for a rose with less acidic petals; THEN we'll have a BLUE rose. I'm not sure how I should do this but here I go: I would love any of these daylilies: Susan Weber, Spiny Sea Urchin, Geneva Firetruck,Chance Encounter, Wish Fulfillment,Fourty Second Street, Sea Urchin, Paper Butterfly. Anything frilled, ruffled or teethed, diamond or gold dusted..Any Spacecoast (Well I can dream can't I)? As far as what I can send...I'll wait until others sign up so I know what they want and can send whatever I have that matches up. If I'm not doing this right....flowersandbirds4ever please let me know. I couldn't figure out how you would be able to match up wants if we didn't list them here? Budsnblooms
