No, that's not it. It stayed on top because there were no posted responses yet to it, I guess.
Now when there are 'fresh' discussions on other topics here, mine will be bumped down the list.

Sometimes here or on other boards, you'll see some people post a response saying just "bump," and that's a ploy to keep the post right at the top, maybe to get more responses or answers to certain questions within the posting.

I call it a holiday because I don't feel the need to make everyone feel the same way. I celebrate the holiday because it's fun to be a part of things, not because I believe in the "origins" of it. Would you feel equally sure that you were right if all the stores began wishing you happy XXXX for all the other religions? Or would you then say it should be nondenominational because you didn't enjoy having someone else's beliefs thrust upon you. It's easy to have an opinion about something dear to you, but do you support the parallel argument as well? I suspect not. You also said "our largely secular society" in your post. To me that says it all. Perhaps there are more people who see it in a secular way than a religious one. In that case (and I'm basing it on your own words) perhaps this is an issue of a small vocal group trying to put forth an agenda of their own against a majority. No one is stopping you from saying "Merry Christmas." Why are you so strongly in favour of forcing others to do so. The people who produce cards and run stores are basing their decisions on the wants of the largest groups. It's financial. Apparently their target demographic is larger. I think everyone should be free to celebrate what they want as they want. I don't get the sense that the OP feels that at all. To each his own I guess.

thank you for every one her to give me advises, guess what, i did came back to my husband for a month in July, and move at at the end of July, and after that completly cut him off not answer the phone or email. He is begging me to come back, he try to find me a job at his company, he cut half of his paycheck to deposit in my account, the second time he give me the check to me in person. (He looked really bad, and was in the depression) None of his actions make me to come back, he told me that he doesn't want me to come back, but please help him when he feel so down. He just want to have someone to talk you so he can pass through the depression stage. (he doesn't have friends or his parents pass away, his relatives are very distance from him)I am the only person can help him. So I start pick up the phone, guess what he keep hoping I will come back to him and he call me every day. every time I told him I don't want to come back to him. He is colaped, and thinking about quiting his job, because he couldnt eat or fuctions. now as a day, finding a job is very difficult as you know. I am so worry about him for quitting the job. I am very frustraighted, and want to screaming on the phone for calling me and keep hoping that I am coming back, but I can't. I just want him to feel ok to keep the job. Now I feel so guilty of leaving him and lead him to the depression and might quiting the job. I just want him to be fine, happy before I leave. I feel disfuction, depress, unhappy to live with him sweeby and peanutmom, you were in my shoe, how can I get rid of this guilt and make him feel fine to handle the job befor I leave because of this feeling guilt, I feel like I stand in the cross secsion of a street, and don't know which way to turn to. please help. ps. today, He said he's going to deposit more money to my account so I don't have to worry about money. I keep silence (inside of me, I want to scream that I don't want it (because he's going to keep hope that i am coming back), I don't want him to be sad, so I keep silence)

Sorry to hear about your disappointment with your paint, especially after all the research that you put into it! I am agreeing with a couple of points people brought up, maybe it was in covering up the blue, maybe it is in your particular lighting and structure, maybe the mix is wrong. I have SM Ivoire throughout our main living area and it is just as ou described, creamy yellow with apricot undertones, not a hint of green. Somebody brought up the point that colors do vary room to room, house to house so maybe that is what you are doing here. In that case, not so much of a "mistake" on your part, but a lovely color that doesn't quite work for you. Similar to how a bright yellow sweater looks great on my friend, but washes me out. Good look in finding a new color!

Sorry I didn't answer sooner, we were back east visiting my family. BTW, I was just amazed at how much lower food prices are in western PA than here in S. CA. Also amazed at how prices here went up in the two weeks we were gone -scary!

Well, as you may remember, the school where I work was coercing us all to attend the pricey end-of-year "party" and some of us were really trying to get out of it, not wanting to waste money on this silly thing. After a lot of drama, we got a break because the district office sent most of us a letter saying we had to take vacation time or lose it, so that pretty much collapsed the party, because who wants to lose vacation time? So I took my vacation day and that was that. But I have heard that next year the pricipal wants us to go on a "retreat" up in the mountains...a whole weekend of doing touchy-feely things and "trust exercises"...sigh.

Just don't try that "fall backwards" trust exercise! Would some of the folks catch you? (I'd just pretend I needed to use the bathroom at the time! And take a loooonngg bathroom break!)

Ooh, I know the one you are talking about. No way!

Two years ago we had a Christmas party. They decided that we should "play games". The first game was, they divided us into teams of people who did not know each other well and we had to pick a traditiional Christmas song, such as Silent Night- and make up lyrics to it. The topic of the lyrics was our upcoming state evaluation. Not wanting to participate in this nerd fest, I snuck off to the restroom and stayed in there until everybody had finished embarassing themselves. I came out just as the food was being served and was told that "people who didn't participate should not eat"! I answered, "So, it's conform or starve, then?" Big silence. That was my last time going to any of their "parties".
