floor tiling

I have a kitchen floor with bluish green tiles, which i want to keep. I have beige tiles which i want to put down in another room that joins it, but i am afraid, that it will clash. What can i do to make the two floors blend when looking down through the rooms. Is their a place where i can order tiles from 20 years ago, where i can order small ones for border trim to use with the beige ones, or do you have another idea, without tearing the kitchen out,

If you want to keep the tiles in the kitchen and you think beige will clash, then don't use beige. Use something with a bit of bluish green in it.

Blue green and tan will contrast and look choppy no matter what you do. It's better to have something be the same light/dark value but be a different color than to find something that's "close" but doesn't match. And even then, it will take some good design to make it look right. Most of the time it never will.

It's not that big a deal to tear out the kitchen tiles and retile so that all matches.

go w/your herringbone design. it will be fine. choose the thinner, longer tile like a 2x8, 3x9, 2x10 size. like this size. Cle basica farmhouse tile you could do a layout like this. a vertical stack, offset: The smaller mosaics will be too much. you already have the floor. pick something a bit larger for the wall. Although, this super smaller herringbone w/the matching white grout could work. It's Bedrosians this is a 2x8 chevron. these are big enough. Tilebar, Nabi harlequin chevron in 3 diff finishes of white marble Cloe tile

We didn't take pictures, but we know the drain system and the pan is perfect because it wasn't the first test we did (out of three tests). In the first test, the drain wasn't tightened down enough and all 8 gallons of water funneled from 2 points in that flange into our dining room ceiling. We cut out all the sheetrock and left the ceiling open until we got the drain clamped tight and the water, filling all 4 corners to the top of the curb, held without a hint of leak for 72 hours, then we repeated the test again to be sure. (Only then did we repair the ceiling.) We used a foam bulb shaped drain plug made and provided by Hydroblok just for the purpose of the flood test. We followed Hydroblok's directions: "The supplied screw hook can be screwed into the Foam Test Ball to act as a handle for inserting and removing the ball from the drain opening. DO NOT insert the supplied Foam Test Ball more than half way into the drain pipe without using the supplied screw hook or it may be difficult to remove."

Design-wise, it just depends on how it looks. Usually it's shiny on wall, matte on floor. But it doesn't have to be. Show the tiles you're considering and...well, people will probably STILL ignore your request and keep saying it's too slippery and not answer your question (even though you are aware of that and I think it is safe to assume you will not use it if it is not suitable in that regard)... anyway show the tiles and see if that helps people decide. There are normal things that are done, and you're not doing it the "normal" way, but that doesn't mean that your particular choices don't work that way.

I am new to this site, but would like to chime on...

It is possible that hopper would like to have specific color schemes in certain rooms. There is always a way to blend any colors that you really love, but are afraid to place side by side.

Nature does it beautifully and gets away with it. But if you cannot find suitable inspiration there then look online at some of the mosaic trims available today. There appears to be one for every combination of hue and texture...

Check out 'Floor & Decor Outlets' and take a look at their random brick patterns of stick mosaic. One called Santiago Stick may be just what you are looking for. You can even combine a couple of products to include the closest match of shades to the beige and blue/green from your two adjoining rooms. Then place a border of these accent mosaic tiles around your new installation and I'm pretty sure you'll be happy with the result!
