Edna.I got my cliva almost free, course nothing is ever free I use to clean house for a lady she had a green house so for house sitting for a week. she paid me & if I repotted her cliva I could have one.I have had it for 2yrs now & it's the first time it bloomed someone on the cliva forum said it had to be root bound to bloom.I had it in a bigger pot,so when I read that I repotted it in a smaller and with held the water and walla it's going to bloom.Iam glad I checked out that forum I was ready to pitch it out. It's to to see you Edna that baby likes his grandma thanks for asking he won't be spoilled though grin grin grin plantlover49

If you do have to pull them early: I discovered something quite by accident last week. I had way too many sweet peppers on the plants & picked a basketful. They were starting to turn but still pretty green. Anyway I put the basket on the seat of my truck. Had too much stuff to take everything in the house at once & meant to go back & get them. Got distracted once I got inside, and, then the next morning I woke up sick & didn't leave the house for 2 days. Mind you, the temps were in the mid 90's so you can imagine the temp inside that closed up truck cab! Anyway on Day 3 I got into the truck...and found the PRETTIEST basket of RED peppers I have ever seen! (They are now very pretty jars of red pepper jelly.) So maybe this technique is a possibility for those whose peppers have not turned...leave off the "getting sick" part, though!

I finally called since I hadn't gotten a reply to my email 2 days ago. They'll let me pay by the week up to max $200 (thanks for suggesting that!) and will also let me have same spot each week (not necessarily same spot in Aug as June if I skip July, but at least the same spot every week once I start coming every week or so). They have a lot of farmers coming just a couple of times a month. June 19 - grape jelly, maybe tomato plants, strawberries (tips just starting to color up now, when will they be ripe?) and salad greens, radishes, maybe baby carrots? Oregano (I need to thin mine, maybe bring small pots?). I can also bring blueberry and blackberry preserves made from frozen berries. June 25 - maybe blueberries, basil? Salad greens if they don't bolt? Radishes and/or carrots? July 3 -skip? Unless I have lots of blueberries July 10, 17 skip? July 24 - maybe squash, cukes, wild blackberries, raspberries, dill, basil? July 30 - Squash, cukes, blackberries, raspberries (?) early tomatoes, herbs August and Sept - keep up with the squash, cukes, more tomatoes, also should have green beans and then edamame. Could also plant some more kale and other greens, carrots to have for Sept market? Jam and jelly fro leftover berries. Season ends Sept 25.

Thanks, Michael, for directing me to brands with low temp paints. In your experience, do these paints work as well as regular paints? Any issues with durability, etc? Faron, that's pretty useful basic info for me. I didn't know you only needed 4 hours dry time at above 50 degrees to make it work. If so, I might still have a window of opportunity - I think we might have some 60-70 degree days left, but I was wondering what to do about the colder night temps (going down into the 40's). Janet - Did you have a couple of hours of above-50 dry time when you painted your garage door? Or did it just plain not work? How has your paint job held up? Thanks everyone. Michelle
