Why are there yellow spots on my vinyl flooring?
Comments (11)We had vinyl flooring installed in our kitchen and entry way two years ago. The installers (an old hippie group with magnificent skills!) told us to NEVER use a rug with rubber backing. There was nothing in the brochures we had describing the flooring that made us aware of the no rubber business. I had never thought about rubber feet until reading this post, but they would fall in the same category. In reading through the fine print (and I do mean FINE) on the manufacturer's web site, I found the reference to not using anything with a rubber backing, or discoloration of the floor would result, and warranty does not apply. Not only does the warranty not apply, but there is absolutely no fix other than replacing the flooring. Now - the question is - is latex the same as rubber? It is a form of rubber, but if you read the instructions on the back of latex backed products, they say they will not stain or discolor "floors". Do they mean wood, vinyl, ceramic (not much damages ceramic)? My solution with the vinyl floors has been no rubber, no latex. Makes putting a non-slipping rug down on vinyl a challenge! Comments (2)They are in neat rows, look to be about 16" apart. My guess is nail pops under the siding. That is only a guess. Your photos look like my house, same siding and shutters. Except after 8 years, I don't have those spots....See MoreBlack Interior + Black Exterior Vinyl Windows
Comments (20)Does anyone know a window company/manufacturer in the Atlanta area they would recommend for black interior/black exterior windows? I do not want wood--do not want the upkeep. We did a house remodel that just finished and replaced some of the windows. I dislike the wood interior which we had to paint and it's only been a few months and it is already chipping and is extremely sensitive to any "use". I want a window that I can install and not worry about again...for a while. But it has to be black/black. I'm open for any suggestions and not married to any brand. Thank you....See MoreHouse siding cedar shake vinyl, regular vinyl, insulation?
Comments (18)They said the wrap the house and they redo all of the window, door casings. I have replaced alot of individual shingles and painted some but fighting with woodpeckers and I tried it all to stop it its a lose lose. Vinyl is what everyone says to go to and the cedar shake vinyl is more for an enhanced look and resistant to fading....See Moregreen-zeus
