Any pics of your room? I have some thoughts but I have no idea if they would translate to your room.

I like pottery barn stuff, but did you read the reviews for that bedding? Not good. All five say that the quality is very poor and that the quilt is thin and falls apart easily. That bedding got 1 star from every reviewer. Usually I ignore one or two bad comments because I figure some people just can't be made happy, but all the reviews for this product were bad.

I do love the colors though.

I'm not sure whether you are a professional plasterer or not, but I am not and I have put up Venetian Plaster in a previous home. It was beautiful, but it was A LOT of work. A LOT. As in not a little, but A LOT. I don't know if you've done something like this before so I'm sorry if I'm speaking out of turn, but I just want to mention that it will be A LOT of work.

It is also very difficult to plaster cleanly up to something like wainscotting and have it look right. Ideally you would plaster and then put up the wainscotting. If it is possible to remove the wainscotting while you plaster that will make your work much easier. Also, the ceiling line will be challenging. If you have crown mouldings the job will be much easier if you remove that as well.

The colors sound lovely.

You know, I love the look of the PB bedding and have bought two sets in the past but I will not buy any more. The main complaint I have is that their bedding is small. I have a queen bed and bought queen sets, but the top sheet has very little overhang on the sides on the bed and the fitted sheet is so small it is a real struggle to get it on the mattress. I guess it might be worth it to try a king set on a queen bed if you really love the pattern but I bet it would then be too big.

Thank you for the input. Yes ttodd that is the quilt.I did read the reviews and i am using it more as a topper or at the end of the bed. Living in Maine in a 300 hundred year old farmhouse it is cold in the winter . So layers are important. I have a down comforter and have been looking for a duvet. Also i have been going to LL Bean and looking at there solid down comforters. I have done the wall treatment before. I have a forty foot hall way leading down to my bedroom with the same wainscotting and color that I want to do. Also next time you do venetian try putting frog tape on ceiling and trim. That way you dont risk getting it on trim or ceiling.
I also have a black iron bed K size from LL Bean that I would like to keep. I am looking for new side tables. Hopefully old dressers. My large dresser that i have the tv on, my DH suggested that he make console with doors for it on top so I looks like a amoire. I am up to painting that a fun color.thank you all for the consideration. I have been decorating room by room since we bought the house and I think I am tired. I like what I had but the duvet that I had made was heavy and uncomfortable. We want yumminess. if you know what I mean. Thanks

Your experience with PB bedding being too small is so much different than mine! I have bought some sheets and quilts I've been happy with (quality has been very good), but everything is over sized for my queen bed. The f/q quilts hang way over the side, much further than I want, and the sheets were almost sloppy, they were so large. We even have a deeper than usual mattress. Interesting..........

Thank you Catkin. I am hoping that with the new burst of freshness that it will be comfy.I spoke with the PB Decorating team yesterday and the Lady I spoke with was very helpful.
Anybody have opinions on bedside Lamps. Do you feel they always need to be the same? I picked up a great Table lamp at GW and sprayed it black it came with a burlap like covered shade. It will be perfect. Probelm is I only have one. I am going to look for a similiar size one paint it same color with same shade. What do you all think? Thankyou for the input

My experiences with PB bedding has been exceptional. The quilts, shams and duvets I have bought over the past 12 years are very well made and the dyes do not fade and the stitching does not fall apart.
As far as sizing, if it's critical, I always find out the size first. I want King quilts and duvets to be 108" wide and PB is one of the few places that will make some in that width.
It is my favorite place for bedding.

Your bedroom is beautiful and love the buffalo checks. I think that quilt will add a great punch of color and complement your fireplace. I can't vouch for the quality, but I have towels from PB and they have held up pretty well.
