I've been thinking of trying both it and Stevia but have to work out some room for winter sunshine behind glass.

The blue or Himalayan poppies (Meconopsis species) are very tricky plants to be able to grow and in many cases, not the slightest bit perennial (the info on the website is somewhat misleading and not the slightest bit detailed re: growing requirements). These are best in cool summer (coastal) areas like the PNW and parts of New England - in fact, they thrive in Alaska - but nearly impossible to grow well or even easily in much of the rest of the country. Will NOT tolerate summer heat or much dryness. And many of these varieties tend to be monocarpic or die after blooming unless already well-established, so how 'perennial' they really are is up for some debate.

Hey Lucy, I have dug up my share of rocks too! They surely do come in handy at times. I feel for you getting to enjoy the neighbors sewer. Just got rid of that problem myself. Didn't run on my side mind you however, the smell would knock you down! Glad our lots are very large! They finally had new field lines installed about 2 weeks ago. I got maybe half of my grass mowed yesterday and the storm came. It is suppose to rain again today too. I will try to mow some more after it dries up a little this morning. Maybe I can get a little more down. At least finish where people can see. haha I will just have to walk through the tall wet grass to work on my plants. Hi Ilmbg, I know of the controvercy about what is a small house that we all get into. Trust me this is still a small house by todays standards. It's not a cottage with 3 bedrooms but it's not a large house either. I told the story about it in the first posting Lot of determination. My neighborhood is full of capes post wwII. Almost everyone has put on a addition due to how small the houses are. The difference is WHERE I put mine. The lay out of rooms in a home makes the mental determination of big or small. By putting my small 10 x by 32 ft addition onto my house I only added ten feet of width to the house. Not a lot really. BUT by adding it to exsisting space with out walls it LOOKs big. I still have 3 bedrooms and 2 baths just like before but now I have what I call a great room with livingroom, dinningroom and kitchen open to eachother. That gives the illusion of big. Do I get to stay on the small house forum???? Teri
