way off topic!!

I had to snap a picture of this house about 3 miles from us. It is hard to believe people can live like this. The house is hard to see. It's in the back on the left. They have bags of garbage lined up on both sides of the driveway. We can't figure out how they get out of their vehicle!! The funny thing is they are real nice people!

LOL yeah, we have some real winners around here too. Just yesterday I passed by this house where you never see ANYONE come out, and their yard is almost never mowed. It had grown to about 3 feet--a real field, until yesterday, when two teenagers were out there trying to weed-whack it. What a sight. The owner of the house must have been the rather large man I saw watching over them. The township must have told them to shape it up LOL

LOL Judy those folks used to live next door to us :)

They were a really nice couple but I always wanted to grab them and the kids and give them a scrub and you couldn't get into the house through the mess. As the lady did anything in the kitchen she would throw the scraps and rubbish onto the floor behind her and then sweep it into the corner every now and then.

I actually used to like going there as it made our house seem so spotlessly clean afterward

I have the same plant though yours has really nice mottling/ spots. Definitely not a croton - leaves are more tender - and not a dieffenbachia... i've always thought of it as Dracaena surculosa 'Florida Beauty". Then i read marguerite's comment and researched further. It turns out that godseffiana is the outdated name, but still used more (like coleus for scuthfsgsvscbscb what). It's discussed here> http://forums2.gardenweb.com/forums/load/houseplt/msg080857441190.html But more in depth in the link below> Here is a link that might be useful: Long post on it from PATSP

Please help Photographers Way off topic!

http://donrisi.blogspot.com/2009/09/portraits-reflections-in-your-subjects.html explains the theory You need bright, even illumination, that means NO FLASH aimed at the mirrors ... use sheets of white paper and halogen lights and bounce the light off the paper onto the mirror. Or bounce it off off the ceiling. Or make a "diffuser" by shining the lights through frosted glass, translucent plastic or white paper (just don't get the diffuser too close or you have fires). Don't try to get the whole wall in one shot. Take a small section at a time, either focusing on one inscription or one or two tiles ... pixels are cheap. This also means you don't care if the photographer is reflected in part of the mirror, because you are aiming a bit to one side of the photographer's reflection. Use a GOOD digital camera - one with a big lens that lets you choose shutter speed and aperture, and try various things until you find one that works. Use a heavy tripod - you can find them for CHEAP in thrift stores. Take some "location shots", just big overviews of the wall without worrying about the reflections, and print them out (B&W laser printer will do). Mark off each section as you get a good shot of it to make sure you get everything in closeups.

Pat. I mostly use Kirks on the boys hair also. One thing I truely HATE is when kids have a stinky head...iI've found that even shampooing 3 times with shampoo kids can still have a stink head. My boys have oily heads so that could be why. Anyway Kirks on their heads and their heads smell so very clean and fresh. I do use a chamomile tea rinse.. I used to use lemon juice, they are both blondies, but I tried the Chamomile and wow it left their hair silky with a natural shine. so every night I brew 2 cups of Chamomile LOL glad I found a cheap brand that's 97cents for 25. I think though I'll try one tea bag and just let it steep an hour or so than dilute it some and split it in half for each boy. For those of you that don't know Kirks is a lovely coconut castile bar soap that can be used as a shampoo you just have to use a acidic rinse afterwards to restore PH. Kirks has a shampoo but I've never seen it at a store, ive been really really wanting to try it. So if any of you have please report to me if you like it. Thank You.

They had to move from their other house because the fire company condemned it when they had a chimney fire. They had dirt floors in that house. This one is right next door to the other one and the even funnier thing is this is a step up from the other house!!!

Sue, Ew! I think we have some of that kind two doors down from us---our poor 80-year-old neighbor says the family next to him STINKS, so badly that he can't keep his kitchen window open. I have issues with the way they ignore their dog & keep him chained 365/24/7, but that's a whole 'nother story....oh how I wish we could buy a farm, and have NO neighbors.....
