My SIL called to tell me what happened to her husband. He's always been athletic, runs, plays baseball and does curling, that ice sport with brooms and rocks. He had his gall bladder removed, came home and decided to move his salt water fish tank. Picked it up and- split- tore all his stitches and had to have a piece of mesh sewn in. That will NOT be happening to me!

I wear progressive lenses. My old glasses had a very small bifocal/midrange area and to properly see the monitor, I was tipping my head way back to use the bottom of the lenses and sometimes I was pushing my glasses up so I didn't have to tip back so far. It was truly damaging my neck and giving me headaches. So when I got my eyes examined, I asked for a Rx for computer glasses. And they're great! The top part of the lenses are good for about arm's length plus a few inches. The bottom is for reading and keyboard. Perfect also for sewing, I can even watch TV in them, but the clarity is a little less than perfect. Since I used frames I already had, they didn't cost too darn much, but still weren't cheap since I have to get high-index lenses, so they'll be a bit thinner. And I don't know of any optical schools here in our area, so the local optical places are my only choices. What I thought was so great about these PC Peekers is their price and the convenience of them, portable but not permanent. If you wear glasses and have trouble seeing your monitor with your glasses on, I think these would be a great, affordable solution.

The clothes our high school son claimed aren't in his closet yet... he doesn't get the "new" ones until HE weeds through his old clothes. LOL He had already claimed a bunch of his brother's sweatshirts this winter. I still need to schedule a trip to the Salvation Army this week. There's a big hefty bag sitting in my bedroom!

We took a Princess cruise and land tour several years ago. It was wonderful. We got a room with a balcony on the top deck so we could sit out there and look at all the sights without standing on deck being cold. We went in early May and the weather was not all that bad.....in fact, no mosquitos and very little rain. It was great to wrap up in blankets and call room service for coffee. We loved staying at one of the Princess Hotels in Denali and took the bus trip. Excellent! The train ride to Denali was OK but we took the bus back to Anchorage and enjoyed it much more. Our very favorite side trip was outside Skagway on the bus tour to the Yukon. There was also a train trip but the bus ride was a great experience. We got to stop along the way if there was something interesting to see.....like a big wolf near the side of the road. The guide was really a lot of fun and knew the history of the Yukon gold rush. We also stopped for lunch at a museum/gift shop. I bought the book Alaska by James Michener there and re read it. I would suggest you read it on your trip. We opted not to have scheduled meal times and that worked out very well. We met some people who were from a tiny town here in California where my maternal grandmother was born. Small world. We took the trip to Mendenhall Glacier outside of Juneau. Take lots of pictures and keep a journal so you can share your experiences with us when you return. Have a wonderful trip!
